Backporting all of ACPI is likely to be difficult. It has tendrils into a lot of different parts of the system. I'd love to see it back ported as well, but I suspect that the time it will take to do it will mean that it isn't MFC'd until after 5.0 is released. I have posted this question = before and haven't been able to get it working.

I have a 380d thinkpad with = 4.4-STABLE.  I am tyring to get both slots of this beast to accept = a pccard.  However, when I put a second card in I get:

pccard: card inserted, slot = 1
pccardd[82]: Card = "SunDisk"("SDP") [5/3 0.6] [(null)] matched
"SunDisk" = ("/.*/") [(null)] [(null)]
pccardd[82]: Failed to allocate = IRQ for SunDisk
pccardd[82]: pccardd = started

Much the same thing if I stick a = nic in slot 1 while slot 0 is occupied, or
instert into slot 0 while slot = 1 is occpupied.  Basically, only one card will work at a = time.  From dmesg:
pcic0: <Cirrus Logic = PD6729/6730 PC-Card Controller> port 0x3e0-0x3e3 at
device 19.0 on pci0

I have irq's 3, 7, 10 and 15 = available in pccard.conf.

Also, when I remove my 3Com = 3C574TX card, the system hangs.

Thanks!

I put 4.4 BSD code (separate files/tar blob with everything/patches per file) in: ftp://ftp.cs.pdx.edu/pub/mobile/wi.44.patches/ It would be nice to have some beta testers. Please try and report back. And keep an eye out for what "capinfo" results might mean, as I have not much of a clue. The code seems to work with prism2 devices as well. However all I have in that regard is one dlink card. There is also a nice feature in the driver for printing out the firmware info at probe/insert time, and also hopefully an improved man page for wicontrol. Under Windows most devices report using irq 11, including PCMCIA, video (which they also do in the FreeBSD dmesg below). This breaks the PCMCIA driver in 4.4-RELEASE and 5.0-CURRENT (default installation). I have tried various changes, such as using polled mode for the PCMCIA driver (under BSD), and the closest I got my Xircom 10/100 PCMCIA ethernet card to work is getting the card to transmit (and actualy got the transmit done interrupt), but no receipt interrupt. I even tried upgrading to the latest changes in /sys/i386/isa/pci_cfgreg.c to no avail. Any suggestions are much appreciated..
