I restarted the make without the DEBUG flag and let it run for about 5 minutes that way, then restarted it with the DEBUG flag again and a short time later it stopped again with an "invalid null command" error. I think maybe the DEBUG flag is interfering with the building of the tools/bootstrp directory somehow? Dunno if this may relate in any way to anything, but I did notice many "duplicate script for ignored" messages flash by while doing the make without the DEBUG flag. These error messages started appearing in lots of different places in -current ports just a few days ago. Joe Marus Clarke says they are due to a revision (1.38) of usr.bin/make/parse.c I don't know if these errors harm anything or not, but they are new AFAICT and perhaps have unmasked some new problem just in the last two days or so on -current. Sorry about the duplicate messages--my mail server is giving me fits. DEBUG=1 on -CURRENT has not been tested at all. -CURRENT had stability problems whole past week. zipdep failiure sounds familiar, I have a patch for it somewhere. > I think maybe the DEBUG flag is interfering with the building of the > tools/bootstrp directory somehow? Yes. You should be able to compile OO without debug and recompile various subcomponents using 'build debug=true' command. You'll need tcsh and you will have to source FreeBSDEnv.Set from it to have build environment set correctly. -- Alexander Kabaev To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-openoffice" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-openoffice Tue Jul 30 21:28: 4 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.FreeBSD.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6F23537B400 for ; Tue, 30 Jul 2002 21:28:03 -0700 (PDT) Received: from smtp-send.myrealbox.com (smtp-send.myrealbox.com [192.108.102.143]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 02BFC43E65 for ; Tue, 30 Jul 2002 21:28:03 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from wa1ter@hotmail.com) Received: from hotmail.com wa1ter@smtp-send.myrealbox.com [67.114.253.79] by smtp-send.myrealbox.com with NetMail SMTP Agent $Revision: 3.10 $ on Novell NetWare via secured & encrypted transport (TLS); Tue, 30 Jul 2002 22:28:03 -0600 Message-ID: <3D4768A3.10809@hotmail.com> Date: Tue, 30 Jul 2002 21:33:39 -0700 From: walt Organization: none User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020714 X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org Subject: Crashing 'setup' solved--halleluja!!! The clue was ultimately from Sobomax, who told me that my gnome- session segfaulting problem was probably due to missing Type1 fonts, or maybe a mis-configured font directory. I upgraded libgnomeprintui today and the installation program segfaulted when it got to my ttf font directory which contained some fonts from Windows I had stuck in there myself a long time ago and forgot about. I deleted those fonts and found that the libgnomeprintui install no longer segfaulted. So...I went back and tried running 'setup' from openoffice and after printing "font directory error (recovered)" it went on to actually, truly run! I'm so happy I could happily strangle Bill for including those Microsoft TrueType fonts in his crappy OS in the first place. How many wasted hours that man has cost me! Well he just wasted many more. Maybe some of you have the same problem I did. I wonder if there may be some way of asking openoffice to test for font integrity before installing. Or maybe just a general-purpose FreeBSD utility that would run through the fonts directory and check for such errors. I bet you have either a corrupted filesystem or hardware problems. Or maybe you have had a snapshot during my 1.0.1 commits. Please upgrade your ports and your src tree with cvsup. And you should upgrade to FreeBSD 4.6 STABLE, since 4.6 RELEASE has some bugs which can lead to segfaults or hangs during the OO.org build. There is also a FreeBSD mailinglist, where you can be informed: openoffice@freebsd.org Martin Martin Blapp, ------------------------------------------------------------------ ImproWare AG, UNIXSP & ISP, Zurlindenstrasse 29, 4133 Pratteln, CH Phone: +41 061 826 93 00: +41 61 826 93 01 PGP: PGP Fingerprint: B434 53FC C87C FE7B 0A18 B84C 8686 EF22 D300 551E ------------------------------------------------------------------ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-openoffice" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-openoffice Thu Aug 1 1:15:39 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-openoffice@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.FreeBSD.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7465837B401 for ; Thu, 1 Aug 2002 01:15:37 -0700 (PDT) Received: from mail.imp.ch (mail.imp.ch [157.161.1.2]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 46ABC43E3B for ; Thu, 1 Aug 2002 01:15:36 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from mb@imp.ch) Received: from nbs.imp.ch (nbs.imp.ch [157.161.4.7]) by mail.imp.ch (8.12.3/8.12.3) with ESMTP id g718FY1Y039274; Thu, 1 Aug 2002 10:15:34 +0200 (CEST) (envelope-from Martin.Blapp@imp.ch) Received: from levais.imp.ch (levais.imp.ch [157.161.4.66]) by nbs.imp.ch (8.12.3/8.12.3) with ESMTP id g718FXYW378035; Thu, 1 Aug 2002 10:15:33 +0200 (MES) Date: Thu, 1 Aug 2002 10:17:20 +0200 (CEST) From: Martin Blapp To: Dmitry Karasik Cc: Subject: Re: [dev] freebsd-4.6 build error In-Reply-To: <3D48E753.FAD9E914@karasik.eu.org> Message-ID: <20020801101608.W55033-100000@levais.imp.ch> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-openoffice@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Hi, > Thank your for your time, anyway. > Any other ideas? I've downloaded now from three locations and the checksums are all the same ... Please please people. If you make a new release, make a PGP signing of the distfile or a md5 checksum available on the homepage. That would solve such problems. The one I fetched some days ago has: MD5 (/usr/ports/distfiles/openoffice/OOo_1.0.1_source.tar.bz2) = 1c5d8e9195fc4da6ef9745f327fcb3c1 Size: 124421735 Bytes The one I just got is a lot bigger: /usr/ports/distfiles/openoffice/OOo_1.0.1_source.tar.bz2 MD5 (/usr/ports/distfiles/openoffice/OOo_1.0.1_source.tar.bz2) = 34f2ca644b7d70573148c82d64eb6064 Size: 136458398 Bytes What happened here ?
