However, this is not always the case. Arguably since a restart kicks you back to the main menu, sysinstall should always chroot() in install.c. At the very least it should chroot if it hasn't done it yet. The line in question is: if (!Restarting && chroot("/mnt") == -1) { in installInitial() in install.c. -- John Baldwin <>< http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/ "Power Users Use the Power to Serve!" - http://www.FreeBSD.org/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-qa" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-qa Wed Nov 13 3:19:53 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-qa@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id BA08537B404; Wed, 13 Nov 2002 03:19:51 -0800 (PST) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2543B43E42; Wed, 13 Nov 2002 03:19:47 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from matusita@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (matusita@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.6/8.12.6) with ESMTP id gADBJkx3015966; Wed, 13 Nov 2002 03:19:46 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from matusita@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from matusita@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.6/8.12.6/Submit) id gADBJkmf015962; Wed, 13 Nov 2002 03:19:46 -0800 (PST) Date: Wed, 13 Nov 2002 03:19:46 -0800 (PST) From: Makoto Matsushita Message-Id: <200211131119.gADBJkmf015962@freefall.freebsd.org> To: matusita@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-bugs@FreeBSD.org, qa@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: misc/45254: Sysinstall installs things it should not install, XF86 in my case.
