Thanks! As far as I know we already support this machine pretty well, at least one developer has one and has been using it for a while. However, if you can set it up with direct network access and don't mind committers having accounts on it, we can always use more machines for people to test stuff on. I think you'll find that the differences in the kernel between FreeBSD -CURRENT and NetBSD -CURRENT is rather huge. They have worked on their source base alot for portability while we have broken everything out for SMP. -gordon To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-sparc" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-sparc Sat Jun 8 11:29: 2 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc@freebsd.org Received: from relay02.cablecom.net (relay02.cablecom.net [62.2.33.102]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 031CF37B404 for ; Sat, 8 Jun 2002 11:28:59 -0700 (PDT) Received: from smtp.swissonline.ch (mail-4.swissonline.ch [62.2.32.85]) by relay02.cablecom.net (8.11.6/8.11.4/SOL/AWF/MXRELAY/06072001) with ESMTP id g58ISuu44472 for ; Sat, 8 Jun 2002 20:28:57 +0200 (CEST) Received: from into.ch (dclient217-162-248-99.hispeed.ch [217.162.248.99]) by smtp.swissonline.ch (8.11.6/8.11.6/SMTPSOL/AWF/2002040101) with ESMTP id g58ISuu15896 for ; Sat, 8 Jun 2002 20:28:56 +0200 (MEST) Message-ID: <3D024CE7.6070106@into.ch> Date: Sat, 08 Jun 2002 20:28:55 +0200 From: Emanuel Haupt User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020417 X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-sparc@freebsd.org Subject: disklabel -e fault Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="------------020908000308070005080902" Sender: owner-freebsd-sparc@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------020908000308070005080902 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit --------------020908000308070005080902 Content-Type: text/plain; name="label" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="label" # /dev/da0c: type: SCSI disk: SEAGATE label: flags: bytes/sector: 512 sectors/track: 63 tracks/cylinder: 255 sectors/cylinder: 16065 cylinders: 2202 sectors/unit: 35378533 rpm: 3600 interleave: 1 trackskew: 0 cylinderskew: 0 headswitch: 0 # milliseconds track-to-track seek: 0 # milliseconds drivedata: 0 8 partitions: # size offset fstype [fsize bsize bps/cpg] a: 400M 0 4.2BSD 1024 8192 16 b: 1G * swap c: * 0 unused e: 2G * 4.2BSD f: 2G * 4.2BSD g: * * 4.2BSD --------------020908000308070005080902-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-sparc" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-sparc Sat Jun 8 11:31: 1 2002 Delivered-To: freebsd-sparc@freebsd.org Received: from relay01.cablecom.net (relay01.cablecom.net [62.2.33.101]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2524A37B408 for ; Sat, 8 Jun 2002 11:30:55 -0700 (PDT) Received: from smtp.swissonline.ch (mail-4.swissonline.ch [62.2.32.85]) by relay01.cablecom.net (8.11.6/8.11.4/SOL/AWF/MXRELAY/06072001) with ESMTP id g58IUtV55478 for ; Sat, 8 Jun 2002 20:30:55 +0200 (CEST) Received: from into.ch (dclient217-162-248-99.hispeed.ch [217.162.248.99]) by smtp.swissonline.ch (8.11.6/8.11.6/SMTPSOL/AWF/2002040101) with ESMTP id g58IUsu16419 for ; Sat, 8 Jun 2002 20:30:54 +0200 (MEST) Message-ID: <3D024D5E.8020405@into.ch> Date: Sat, 08 Jun 2002 20:30:54 +0200 From: Emanuel Haupt User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020417 X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: freebsd-sparc Subject: disklabel -e fault (2nd, sorry) Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="------------010304060206050809030708" Sender: owner-freebsd-sparc@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk List-ID: List-Archive: (Web Archive) List-Help: (List Instructions) List-Subscribe: List-Unsubscribe: X-Loop: FreeBSD.org This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------010304060206050809030708 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit sorry, here the right post: --------------010304060206050809030708 Content-Type: text/plain; name="label" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="label" i was trying to disklabel the diskdrive on my netra. i followd the instructions under: http://people.freebsd.org/~bmah/relnotes/CURRENT/installation-sparc64.html here is my "disklabel -e da0" # /dev/da0c: type: SCSI disk: SEAGATE label: flags: bytes/sector: 512 sectors/track: 63 tracks/cylinder: 255 sectors/cylinder: 16065 cylinders: 2202 sectors/unit: 35378533 rpm: 3600 interleave: 1 trackskew: 0 cylinderskew: 0 headswitch: 0 # milliseconds track-to-track seek: 0 # milliseconds drivedata: 0 8 partitions: # size offset fstype [fsize bsize bps/cpg] a: 400M 0 4.2BSD 1024 8192 16 b: 1G * swap c: * 0 unused e: 2G * 4.2BSD f: 2G * 4.2BSD g: * * 4.2BSD unfortunately i got the following errors after :wq!
