So it appeared that it only worked on the i386 and not the alpha or sparc due to targs being a non-zero value. The new version is available.... This is just a stock ultra 10 with an ide drive on the onboard controller? You might try downloading the tarball distribution and comparing the md5 with the boot1 in that. I put the boot1 from my machine up on freefall, you can try installing that one with disklabel -B again; its from recent -current but that shouldn't make a difference. I downloaded the iso image as tarball and it extracted without any problems. The other programs in the CD is working properly. I should be very unlucky to get boot1 broken only =) Anyhow I also downloaded the boot1 from the link you provided and made a "disklabel -B -b boot1" but it didnt help. I also found out that in netbsd faqs that prom update might help I put the flash program into the disk and then tried boot disk flash-update and boot disk:a flash-update But in every case I got the same result about the file being not executable. I am attaching my disklabel output also now. Any more suggestions? =) Yes this is an Ultra10 with onboard controller. There is nothing extra on it.
