Using DS10 with it's builtin dc(4) ethernet. OK, all this might mean is that you're not running the right test..as far as I remember, the two DS10s in the alpha package cluster also had the package corruption problem, but we'll see now that David has decomissioned the Miatas and replaced them with all DS10s. It moves the setting of mp_maxid into a separate function (cpu_mp_setmaxid()) that is called before loader tunables so that UMA and others can use it. cpu_mp_probe() is now called at SI_SUB_CPU / SI_ORDER_SECOND like it used to be. This is necessay to re-enable the ACPI module on i386. I have tested it on i386 but not on other archs. Please be sure to test that a normal SMP kernel works as well as booting an SMP kernel with 'kern.smp.disabled'. cpu_mp_probe() is no longer called if SMP is disabled in the loader using the tunable. Can you try this: http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/patches/spurious.patch It includes the TD_ON_RUNQ() fix as well as some assertions that should hopefully catch the bug the assertion above is catching if it's not a case of nesting on a turnstile. A backtrace from the first panic might help if you can get it. -- John Baldwin <>< http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/ "Power Users Use the Power to Serve!" - http://www.FreeBSD.org/ From owner-freebsd-alpha@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Nov 21 03:16:15 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id DE31516A4CE for ; Fri, 21 Nov 2003 03:16:15 -0800 (PST) Received: from smta06.mail.ozemail.net (smta06.mail.ozemail.net [203.103.165.100]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0336343FE5 for ; Fri, 21 Nov 2003 03:16:14 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from rbyrnes@ozemail.com.au) Received: from ozemail.com.au ([203.61.185.137]) by smta06.mail.ozemail.net with ESMTP id <20031121111515.MLQF22480.smta06.mail.ozemail.net@ozemail.com.au> for ; Fri, 21 Nov 2003 11:15:15 +0000 Message-ID: <3FBDF385.2040600@ozemail.com.au> Date: Fri, 21 Nov 2003 22:14:13 +1100 From: Rob User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031013 Thunderbird/0.3 X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: alpha@freebsd.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: -mieee on Alpha X-BeenThere: freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Alpha List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 21 Nov 2003 11:16:16 -0000 Where is -mieee specified when building applications from ports or when building world? Also, looking back throught the archives, there doesn't appear to eb a way to turn it off (if one should so desire), is this correct? Cheers, Rob -- Thou shalt not misspell thine neurotransmitters. Some people don't want or expect -mieee.
