That's saying the acpi.ko module was not built and installed. When you install your new kernel, use the Makefile target, instead of using "cp", or it won't install the modules it builds. AMD and other Intel processors will also have the same problem (AMD seems to have lifted the logic circuit designs directly). The problem has definitely been around since the P3 days (the P3 is where I saw it first). The only thing that's going to be a factor is amount of memory in the system, and certain tuning parameters, in which case the workaround is accidental. -- Terry To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message From owner-freebsd-current Sun Feb 23 1: 7:44 2003 Delivered-To: freebsd-current@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 96F4337B401 for ; Sun, 23 Feb 2003 01:07:43 -0800 (PST) Received: from zibbi.icomtek.csir.co.za (zibbi.icomtek.csir.co.za [146.64.24.58]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D4FFA43F85 for ; Sun, 23 Feb 2003 01:07:40 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from jhay@zibbi.icomtek.csir.co.za) Received: from zibbi.icomtek.csir.co.za (localhost [IPv6:::1]) by zibbi.icomtek.csir.co.za (8.12.6/8.12.6) with ESMTP id h1N97Fbw056375; Sun, 23 Feb 2003 11:07:15 +0200 (SAST) (envelope-from jhay@zibbi.icomtek.csir.co.za) Received: (from jhay@localhost) by zibbi.icomtek.csir.co.za (8.12.6/8.12.6/Submit) id h1N97E4S056374; Sun, 23 Feb 2003 11:07:14 +0200 (SAST) Date: Sun, 23 Feb 2003 11:07:14 +0200 From: John Hay To: Vallo Kallaste Cc: Terry Lambert , "Paul A.
