Just now I tried a force-rebuild of it, and I see the same error that you reported. So, it looks like something has changed in the system includes, and that is confusing the vmware2 port. (I say "in the system", because the vmware2 port itself has not changed since I last built it). There were a number of other compile-time warnings before the one you listed. My guess is that /sys/sys/param.h might be getting pulled into the compile when it did not used to be pulled into it, but that is a very shaky guess. Please note that I am not likely to look into this any farther, because what I think I finally determined is that vmware2 simply does not work on my new PC (it builds fine, but crashes when I try to run it, on both stable and current). I still run it on my older PC, but that PC is running freebsd-stable, and needs to stay that way for now. -- Garance Alistair Drosehn = gad@gilead.netel.rpi.edu Senior Systems Programmer or gad@freebsd.org Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute or drosih@rpi.edu From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Thu Apr 3 18:24:18 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E143837B401; Thu, 3 Apr 2003 18:24:18 -0800 (PST) Received: from priv-edtnes28.telusplanet.net (outbound04.telus.net [199.185.220.223]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 8068943F85; Thu, 3 Apr 2003 18:24:15 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from danilo@telusplanet.net) Received: from astaroth.sdezmio.org ([198.53.4.201]) by priv-edtnes28.telusplanet.netESMTP <20030404022414.KNRH4735.priv-edtnes28.telusplanet.net@astaroth.sdezmio.org>; Thu, 3 Apr 2003 19:24:14 -0700 Received: from [127.0.0.1] (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by astaroth.sdezmio.org (8.12.9/8.12.8) with ESMTP id h342OEkQ002499; Thu, 3 Apr 2003 19:24:14 -0700 (MST) (envelope-from danilo@telusplanet.net) From: Danilo Fiorenzano To: Garance A Drosihn In-Reply-To: References: <1049237388.8097.153.camel@astaroth.sdezmio.org> Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="=-4TJq2FQ1tfF0THBqgxXS" Organization: Message-Id: <1049423053.871.66.camel@astaroth.sdezmio.org> Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Ximian Evolution 1.2.2 Date: 03 Apr 2003 19:24:14 -0700 cc: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org cc: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Subject: Re: VMware2 build under -CURRENT ... is Broken? I myself had to move to -CURRENT a couple of weeks ago because of a new PC, and waited until the latest patch was committed by the port maintainer to make it compile under -CURRENT. Looks like I should have updated my system sources around the same time, instead of holding back for 5 more days :) > There were a number of other compile-time warnings before the > one you listed. At this point I might try to trace the preprocessor output during the build process, up to the line where the error occurs. As soon as I have some time to work on this, anyway. thanks again -- Danilo --=-4TJq2FQ1tfF0THBqgxXS Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQA+jOzNEnNFmvtgzVQRAnBIAJ4/+0caZvJeyo+4OWL7LeXwlfXeyQCcD4Cq 5R2zixco15P0p5iGuvapPig= =Xiil -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-4TJq2FQ1tfF0THBqgxXS-- From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Apr 4 14:05:58 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-emulation@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2D1EE37B401; Fri, 4 Apr 2003 14:05:58 -0800 (PST) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C05A643FA3; Fri, 4 Apr 2003 14:05:57 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from nork@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (nork@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.9/8.12.9) with ESMTP id h34M5vUp040689; Fri, 4 Apr 2003 14:05:57 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from nork@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from nork@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.9/8.12.9/Submit) id h34M5vAx040685; Fri, 4 Apr 2003 14:05:57 -0800 (PST) Date: Fri, 4 Apr 2003 14:05:57 -0800 (PST) From: Norikatsu Shigemura Message-Id: <200304042205.h34M5vAx040685@freefall.freebsd.org> To: vova@sw.ru, nork@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: ports/40973: Invalid behavior of emulators/rtc on -CURRENT, both build and run time.
