Ethernet over FireWire (if_fwe) This is a sample driver for ethernet emulation. Please note this does NOT conform to any standards like IP over FireWire(RFC2734[4]). Of course that should be the reason I got no results trying to connect an iBook with Mac OS X (10.2.3) to the FreeBSD box (STABLE from Dec 14), although the interface configurations looked ok. I guess there are no options to have standard IP over Firewire yet; are there any plans for development? Regards, Juergen. Unfortunately, I have no plan to do it now. The old FireWire driver[1] includes support for IP over FireWire(RFC2734). I'm not sure whether it really works or not because I've not tried it yet but it should be a good start point. Any volunteers?
