We are also working on public CVSup and FTP mirrors, but we are still working on access to the *-masters first before making that official (rsyncing from ftp.leo.org is pretty slow, and Yahoo is only three hops away from us ) The FTP mirror will be on the same IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, and as far as I know cvsupd does not support IPv6 yet. :( This makes us the first (I believe) US based IPv6 mirror. Who do I need to contact to have our site added to the pull-down mirror list on the front FreeBSD web page? It's accessible via either 6to4 or a very slow 6bone tunnel, so you may well have the first mirror that's on a production IPv6 network. -GAWollman From owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Apr 16 21:50:51 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A9BE237B401 for ; Wed, 16 Apr 2003 21:50:51 -0700 (PDT) Received: from luftpost.plosh.net (luftpost.plosh.net [204.152.186.181]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3BBE543FB1 for ; Wed, 16 Apr 2003 21:50:51 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from Peter_Losher@isc.org) Received: from isc.org (tardis-nat.plosh.net [64.139.14.228]) by luftpost.plosh.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id D9A4D32606; Wed, 16 Apr 2003 21:51:11 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from Peter_Losher@isc.org) Message-ID: <3E9E32AA.1030709@isc.org> Date: Wed, 16 Apr 2003 21:50:50 -0700 From: Peter Losher User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.3) Gecko/20030312 X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: Peter Losher References: <200304141541.33782@tardis.isc.org> In-Reply-To: <200304141541.33782@tardis.isc.org> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit cc: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org Subject: Re: New freebsd WWW mirror (IPv4 & IPv6) X-BeenThere: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Distributions Hubs: mail sup ftp List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2003 04:50:52 -0000 So, who do I need to contact to get the proper {ftp*,cvsup*}.freebsd.org CNAME for freebsd.isc.org? I originally thought that, but Polstra's docs indicated when you create the auth ticket for cvsup, that you already had the *.freebsd.org CNAME's in place. We are already pulling hourly CVSup updates for the src, ports and www trees from cvsup10, and will do the same hourly updates for ftp as soon as we can get access to ftp-master (application pending) And the documentation states in: http://freebsd.isc.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/hubs/mirror-official.html It says "1. Get the mirror running in first place (maybe not using a master site, yet)."
