Yes, but I'm not sure we're complete. I think the compat4x bits are designed to amend existing i386 libraries and only include those that had a version bump. On ia64 we would then not have those that did not have a version bump. I think it's better to make it a port. That way it's more easily shared with amd64 (if applicable). -- Marcel Moolenaar USPA: A-39004 marcel@xcllnt.net From owner-freebsd-ia64@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Jul 16 22:58:31 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-ia64@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1FB2C37B401; Wed, 16 Jul 2003 22:58:31 -0700 (PDT) Received: from dragon.nuxi.com (trang.nuxi.com [66.93.134.19]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6533E43F85; Wed, 16 Jul 2003 22:58:30 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from obrien@NUXI.com) Received: from dragon.nuxi.com (obrien@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by dragon.nuxi.com (8.12.9/8.12.9) with ESMTP id h6H5wTju097105; Wed, 16 Jul 2003 22:58:29 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from obrien@dragon.nuxi.com) Received: (from obrien@localhost) by dragon.nuxi.com (8.12.9/8.12.9/Submit) id h6H5wRCw097104; Wed, 16 Jul 2003 22:58:27 -0700 (PDT) Date: Wed, 16 Jul 2003 22:58:27 -0700 From: "David O'Brien" To: Marcel Moolenaar Message-ID: <20030717055827.GA96381@dragon.nuxi.com> References: <20030715235027.GA16599@dhcp01.pn.xcllnt.net> <20030716173628.GA20444@dhcp01.pn.xcllnt.net> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <20030716173628.GA20444@dhcp01.pn.xcllnt.net> User-Agent: Mutt/1.4i X-Operating-System: FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT Organization: The NUXI BSD Group X-Pgp-Rsa-Fingerprint: B7 4D 3E E9 11 39 5F A3 90 76 5D 69 58 D9 98 7A X-Pgp-Rsa-Keyid: 1024/34F9F9D5 cc: "Scot W. I would look for an i64 specific solution to the issue you mentioned of the compat4x port only having those bits that had their shared version bumped. -- -- David (obrien@FreeBSD.org)
