This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0043_01C3A148.8D2B5390 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, I am trying to play it safe and installing: the official Diablo (jdk1.3.1) on a FreeBSD4.8 OS Despite my conservative specs, the java installation is asking for: XFree86-libraries-4.3.0_5 All of the freeBsd packages for FreeBSD 4.8 on the mirror sites only go as high as: XFree86-libraries-4.3.0_1 I see Xfree86-version 5 on FreeBSD 5.0 package lists but am apprehensive about putting a package for the 5.0 OS on a 4.8 OS. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My options seem to be: 1.) install XFree86-libraries-4.3.0_1 and receive a warning from the java install 2.) install XFree86-libraries-4.3.0_5 and make the java install happy but run it on a 4.8 OS This must be a common issue. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?
