Ah Trust me to overlook the obvious. The modem is an Actiontec MD560RD-M007-F, FCC registration LNQTAI-36176-M5-E. If there is any way I can use this from FreeBSD, I would be delighted. I wonder if these lines in dmesg output originate from the modem? I sure don't know what lese it could be, as the machine only has one serial port (sio0, which works fine). sio1: configured irq 3 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0 sio1: port may not be enabled - Harald From owner-freebsd-mobile@FreeBSD.ORG Sun Jun 22 04:51:28 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 493D037B401 for ; Sun, 22 Jun 2003 04:51:28 -0700 (PDT) Received: from fiinbeck.math.ntnu.no (fiinbeck.math.ntnu.no [129.241.15.140]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 5B09C43F75 for ; Sun, 22 Jun 2003 04:51:26 -0700 (PDT) (envelope-from hanche@math.ntnu.no) Received: (qmail 18140 invoked from network); 22 Jun 2003 11:51:25 -0000 Received: from localhost (127.0.0.1) by localhost with SMTP; 22 Jun 2003 11:51:25 -0000 To: freebsd-mobile@FreeBSD.org In-Reply-To: <86vfv1833q.fsf@notbsdems.interne.kisoft-services.com> References: <86vfv1833q.fsf@notbsdems.interne.kisoft-services.com> X-Mailer: Mew version 1.94.2 on Emacs 21.2 / Mule 5.0 (SAKAKI) X-URL: http://www.math.ntnu.no/~hanche/ Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Message-Id: <20030622135125S.hanche@math.ntnu.no> Date: Sun, 22 Jun 2003 13:51:25 +0200 From: Harald Hanche-Olsen X-Dispatcher: imput version 20000228(IM140) Lines: 14 Subject: Re: Dell 4150 & ACPI-0293: *** Warning: Buffer created with zero length in AML X-BeenThere: freebsd-mobile@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Mobile computing with FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 22 Jun 2003 11:51:28 -0000 + Eric Masson : | Hello, | | I've just installed 5.1-RELEASE on my inspiron 4150 (Bios A06, latest | available) and I'm facing the message in subject while booting.
