I go to the ports index page and type in a search query, let's say "mplayer" 2. I hit the submit button and I eventually end up on a page with "mplayer" hits for 4.8-STABLE/i386 3. I change 4.8.-STABLE/i386 to 5.1-RELEASE and hit the submit button again and I end up on a page with "mplayer" hits for 5.1-RELEASE/i386 4. Let's say I now scroll to the "mplayer-0.90.0.110_2" package and click the "win32-codecs-011002.2.0.90.p7" requirement 5. What I would expect should happen now is that I end up at a page which displays the hits for the query "win32-codecs-011002.2.0.90.p7" for 5.1-RELEASE/i386, unfortunately I end up at a page which hits for 4.8-STABLE/i386, thus I've to change to 5.1-RELEASE/i386 again en hit the submit button... again. The problem sounds like a problem with out of date INDEX file used by the search engine at the time. The INDEX "database" file is only recreated once in a while manually, when the ports team find it to be appropriate, so at times the search engine will be a bit out of date. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=38243 From owner-freebsd-www@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Oct 29 14:13:17 2003 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-www@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4BE2316A4CE for ; Wed, 29 Oct 2003 14:13:17 -0800 (PST) Received: from white.imgsrc.co.jp (ns.imgsrc.co.jp [210.226.20.2]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C38CB43FDD for ; Wed, 29 Oct 2003 14:13:15 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from kuriyama@imgsrc.co.jp) Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by white.imgsrc.co.jp (Postfix) with ESMTP id 97EAA284020 for ; Thu, 30 Oct 2003 07:13:14 +0900 (JST) Received: from black.imgsrc.co.jp (black.imgsrc.co.jp [2001:218:422:2::130]) by white.imgsrc.co.jp (Postfix) with ESMTP id BA124284018 for ; Thu, 30 Oct 2003 07:13:13 +0900 (JST) Received: from black.imgsrc.co.jp (black.imgsrc.co.jp [2001:218:422:2::130]) by black.imgsrc.co.jp (Postfix) with ESMTP id 919051E4620 for ; Thu, 30 Oct 2003 07:13:13 +0900 (JST) Date: Thu, 30 Oct 2003 07:13:13 +0900 Message-ID: <7mwuanheva.wl@black.imgsrc.co.jp> From: Jun Kuriyama To: www@freebsd.org References: <3FA0102C.1080204@mail.poliod.hu> User-Agent: Wanderlust/2.10.1 (Watching The Wheels) SEMI/1.14.5 (Awara-Onsen) FLIM/1.14.5 (Demachiyanagi) APEL/10.6 Emacs/21.3 (i386--freebsd) MULE/5.0 (SAKAKI) MIME-Version: 1.0 (generated by SEMI 1.14.5 - "Awara-Onsen") Content-Type: message/rfc822 X-Virus-Scanned: by AMaViS snapshot-20020531 Subject: Forward: Current releases X-BeenThere: freebsd-www@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD Project Webmasters List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 22:13:17 -0000 >From keve@mail.poliod.hu Thu Oct 30 04:08:26 2003 X-Original-To: kuriyama+freebsd@imgsrc.co.jp Message-ID: <3FA0102C.1080204@mail.poliod.hu> Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2003 20:08:28 +0100 From: Keve Nagy User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624 X-Accept-Language: hu, en-gb, en, en-us MIME-Version: 1.0 To: webmaster@freebsd.org Subject: Current releases X-Enigmail-Version: 0.76.1.0 X-Enigmail-Supports: pgp-inline, pgp-mime Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, I noticed that 4.9R is officially announced and is available for download, even the NEWFLASH page says so on http://www.freebsd.org/news/newsflash.html, but the RELEASES page still lists 5.1 and 4.8 on http://www.freebsd.org/releases/index.html. It's not supposed to be. 4.9 is not a past release, it is a current release.
