There was a problem with this installation and the server crashed everytime I tried to install it again. I want the linux_base package for the compaq-cc compiler, which I've read, should be faster. I've done the following: cd /usr/port/emulators/linux_base kldload osf1 make install and after he downloaded all the rpms the server crashed at the second rpm. I've added an output of dmesg at the bottom. Well, is it possible to install linux_base on alpha? Does the compaq-cc produce realy faster binaries? Regards -luca. ### link_elf: symbol osf1_wait4 undefined fatal kernel trap: trap entry = 0x4 (unaligned access fault) a0 = 0xfffffe001544fe34 a1 = 0x2d a2 = 0x1 pc = 0xfffffc00003a81e8 ra = 0xfffffc00003a8158 curproc = 0xfffffe00153b9e80 pid = 684, comm = ldconfig panic: trap syncing disks... 152 115 9 7 4 done Uptime: 12m4s Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort Rebooting... ### From owner-freebsd-alpha@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Sep 20 11:02:08 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id F04EC16A4D1 for ; Mon, 20 Sep 2004 11:02:08 +0000 (GMT) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E376043D49 for ; Mon, 20 Sep 2004 11:02:08 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (peter@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.11/8.12.11) with ESMTP id i8KB28f7001368 for ; Mon, 20 Sep 2004 11:02:08 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: (from peter@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.12.11/8.12.11/Submit) id i8KB27Jk001356 for freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org; Mon, 20 Sep 2004 11:02:07 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Date: Mon, 20 Sep 2004 11:02:07 GMT Message-Id: <200409201102.i8KB27Jk001356@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: peter set sender to owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: freebsd-alpha@FreeBSD.org Subject: Current problem reports assigned to you X-BeenThere: freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the Alpha List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 20 Sep 2004 11:02:09 -0000 Current FreeBSD problem reports Critical problems Serious problems S Submitted Tracker Resp.
