Looking at the CVS repository, the comment on the makefile revision for Revision 1.151 of the Makefile says that it fixes the problem with mod_proxy. Looks like files/patch-proxy_util.c got added, and the PORTREVISION number updated in the Makefile. apache-1.3.31_1 or apache-1.3.31_2 (the later is half an hour old) should be OK. Anybody come across this behavior before? I've seen this in the far past - back in the 2.x or early 3.x days. I don't remember the exact flag I used but it was one of the options you will find in LINT under the area labeled # options of atkbd. The BIOS on one of the machine I had then did not detect a keyboard and thus set the keyboard to the serial port, but I haven't used this option for about 5 years. There's a kernel module called 'lrexec' that logs all system calls executed to syslogd. I configured it a while ago for my system and wrote up a short comment on it here: http://jez.hancock-family.com/archives/112_Installed_and_Configured_lrexec_module_For_Logging_System_Calls.html The 'parent' site for the lrexec module is on sourceforge and goes under the name 'Cerber': http://cerber.sourceforge.net/ The lrexec module was originally a standalone piece of code by a guy called Pawel Dawidek, a FreeBSD contributer: http://jez.hancock-family.com/archives/43_Patching_FreeBSD_Kernel_To_Log_User_Activities.html see also these interesting kernel level patches: http://jez.hancock-family.com/archives/44_Kernel_Level_Patches.html If you search the archives for freebsd-isp mailing list, you should find more info on the patches there. If a kernel module is too low level for you, it's also possible to patch the shell source to log syscalls. There's some minor info on it here: http://jez.hancock-family.com/archives/37_Securing_Users_Shell_Command_History.html -- Jez Hancock - System Administrator / PHP Developer http://munk.nu/ http://jez.hancock-family.com/ - Another FreeBSD Diary http://ipfwstats.sf.net/ - ipfw peruser traffic logging From owner-freebsd-isp@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Jun 18 08:45:28 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 73AEB16A4CE for ; Fri, 18 Jun 2004 08:45:28 +0000 (GMT) Received: from flash.mipk.kharkiv.edu (flash.mipk.kharkiv.edu [194.44.157.113]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1AC2943D2F for ; Fri, 18 Jun 2004 08:45:22 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from artem@mipk.kharkiv.edu) Received: from mipk.kharkiv.edu (rainbow.mipk.kharkiv.edu [192.168.9.241]) i5I8hbLs041625; Fri, 18 Jun 2004 11:43:39 +0300 (EEST) (envelope-from artem@mipk.kharkiv.edu) Message-ID: <40D2AB39.8000201@mipk.kharkiv.edu> Date: Fri, 18 Jun 2004 11:43:37 +0300 From: Artyom Viklenko Organization: IIAT NTU "KhPI" User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113 X-Accept-Language: ru, uk, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: Andrew Nelson References: In-Reply-To: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit cc: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org Subject: Re: monitoring shell commands (recording username/cmd/time) X-BeenThere: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list List-Id: Internet Services Providers List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 18 Jun 2004 08:45:28 -0000 Andrew Nelson wrote: > Hi, > > I'm wondering if there is a version of bash or tcsh that logs all commands > to a file with username and time? Yeah, there is a BOFH patch for bash, you can get from here: http://www.ccitt5.net/archives/ It produces syslog messages like this: Jun 17 23:50:02 server bash[12725]: [user1] cd Jun 17 23:50:02 server bash[12725]: [user1] ll Jun 17 23:50:08 server bash[12725]: [user1] vi foo.txt Jun 17 23:50:58 server bash[11642]: [user1] vi bar.txt HTH! -Dan From owner-freebsd-isp@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Jun 18 16:47:57 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-isp@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7C7F416A4CE for ; Fri, 18 Jun 2004 16:47:57 +0000 (GMT) Received: from mail.egation.com (frhemail.colo.egation.com [216.218.216.14]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with SMTP id 4BE6E43D45 for ; Fri, 18 Jun 2004 16:47:57 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from david@mail.egation.com) Received: (qmail 60325 invoked by uid 0); 18 Jun 2004 16:46:16 -0000 Received: from david@mail.egation.com by egation.com by uid 0 with qmail-scanner-1.20 (clamuko: 0.65. uvscan: v4.3.20/v4319. However, before step 3, you might want to compare the MY_KERNEL kernel config against the newly-updated GENERIC (and make any adjustments tat are appropriate). For that matter, if you are using CVSup to modify your /usr/src hierarchy directly, you may need to be sure that the MY_KERNEL kernel config is where it is supposed to be. I'd also recommend: * Read /usr/src/UPDATING after /usr/src has been updated. * Arranging serial console access. * Have built the server to boot from either of 2 slices; copy (I use dump | restore) the running (but quiescent; ideally, read-only) file systems on the 4.9 slice to the other slice, boot from the other slice (thus verifying that you have a usable copy), then upgrade the currently-booted slice to 4.10. [The "extra" boot is probably unnecessary, but I've been too lazy to actually try doing the build while specifying an alternative DESTDIR (or whatever other variables need to be set).] This last is, perhaps, not so commonly done, but I have found it useful. You may also want to consider updating your ports. (I use portupgrade for this.) Finally: If at all possible, try this first on a machine that is (much!) closer to you, so you know what to expect. Although apache php-mod compiled successfully & working flawlessly when compiled as apache module, it simply won't work when compiled as php-cgi module. Already tried every possible combinations of compile options of php down to the barest possible to no avail. i went so far by make world in order to upgrade the whole system, as portupgrade all installed ports, still a no go, also tried compiling php without using ports, same result. But it works flawlessly on php 5x, both as cgi-module or php module. the problems is, the program which will exclusively using php is mapserver 4 which simply only works with php 4x. Any hint. links i should take to resolving this problems ? Thanks in advance. ~yomims~ -- ---- Our Messer which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy moment come.
