Not 1.4.2_01, 1.4.2_02, 1.4.2_03, etc. In particular we're based on the 1.4.2 SCSL code release, which was released long before 1.4.2_06. The jdk is in vuXML due to the javascript unsafe class loading issue. Since the jdk issue is with the browser plugin, I figured I'd be ok using MINIMAL=true to skip the plugin, but now I'm tripping over open-motif. I'd like to understand the relationship between the two a little more before proceeding. From the CVS history, I see a note that libXm is statically linked into libawt. It seems like this is a non-issue for me since I'm precompiling a package that is intended for use on servers that won't run X, but I'd like to get some kind of confirmation before I go ahead and override the vulnerability check. -- Matthew George SecureWorks Technical Operations From owner-freebsd-java@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Dec 1 05:10:35 2004 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7D2F316A4CF for ; Wed, 1 Dec 2004 05:10:35 +0000 (GMT) Received: from wproxy.gmail.com (wproxy.gmail.com [64.233.184.193]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E6D1943D5D for ; Wed, 1 Dec 2004 05:10:34 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from mnriem@gmail.com) Received: by wproxy.gmail.com with SMTP id 57so19520wri for ; Tue, 30 Nov 2004 21:10:34 -0800 (PST) DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; q=dns; c=nofws; s=beta; d=gmail.com; h=received:message-id:date:from:reply-to:to:subject:cc:in-reply-to:mime-version:content-type:content-transfer-encoding:references; b=QVob4xHVh1Vmqf7Fff3X/8kxAe84LQI5ShwbsjJIF7APeYpIeB8SchlpLHdTouSdTyjVxjNkLuH426D7gpPtqeVxgA0+j7DKz5/XiJR8KFBij1HDqo8h+YpxfDR+HZnZSlRCUlG66xdUF/5+vfiUrfcDNhBpkDyMD0hg5nzsChY= Received: by 10.54.31.7 with SMTP id e7mr491980wre; Tue, 30 Nov 2004 21:10:34 -0800 (PST) Received: by 10.54.10.16 with HTTP; Tue, 30 Nov 2004 21:10:34 -0800 (PST) Message-ID: <37919c3104113021104caf0ccc@mail.gmail.com> Date: Tue, 30 Nov 2004 23:10:34 -0600 From: Manfred Riem To: Greg Lewis In-Reply-To: <20041124161926.GB10910@misty.eyesbeyond.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit References: <20041124161926.GB10910@misty.eyesbeyond.com> cc: freebsd-java@freebsd.org Subject: Re: [glewis@freebsd.org: cvs commit: ports/java/jdk14 Makefile] X-BeenThere: freebsd-java@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.1 Precedence: list Reply-To: Manfred Riem List-Id: Porting Java to FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 01 Dec 2004 05:10:35 -0000 Hi Greg, I am willing to look into the issue if you are able to get some additional information from Sun where it exactly is located. Making the 3.6 available as netbeans3 would be good. I would however go for netbeans36 Let me know what we decide on so I can go ahead with delivering the port Makefile and associated files. Unless you plan to have 3.6, 4.0 and 4.1 in the ports tree I don't think that the minor version number is mandatory here. OTOH as you suggest above, we could have the following in the future: - netbeans3 - netbeans (netbeans 4.0) - netbeans-devel (netbeans 4.1) For now I will request a repocopy of netbeans to netbeans-devel. We'll see how things go. For the native support, we don't issue timetables due to the voluntary nature of the project. In terms of the linux version, I've had a report of the Linux version working on FreeBSD 6-CURRENT, but haven't heard of anything else. At the very least it looks like another syscall needs to be implemented in the Linux emulation layer. > Should someone mark the port as broken or remove it? It sounds like > it does not work on 4.x or 5.x at all. It was just marked as IGNORE. Unfortunately there is not much I can do. I'm ready to try debugging this case, but I need someone to guide me through this process as I'm not gdb neither assembler expert. And it looks like there are not so many folks who ready to spend their time helping me. For now there is a (not so bad) workaround. And we can hope this bug will go away with further freebsd development. On Tue, 30 Nov 2004, Matt Meola wrote: MM>On Thu, 2004-11-25 at 13:07 +0300, Oleg Sharoiko wrote: MM>> Hello!
