I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. I have extensive experience with FreeBSD in an ISP environment. I have been the lead system administrator for two small ISPs for a total of 4 years. Additionally, I was one of the team at a large ISP for 6 months, before they decided they wanted me to relocate to Louisiana. I do not like hot, humid weather. I have had exposure to Solaris, HP-UX, and Linux. My FreeBSD experience provides a very solid base for all Unix. I am highly skilled in shell scripting with facility using both awk and sed as well as other useful pipeline capable utilities. I can debug and enhance scripts in most languages due to my training as a programmer. While I prefer not to work with Windows based systems, I have yet to meet a Windows problem I could not solve faster than 90% of the MCSEs I've met. I also speak Cisco IOS having used it on a wide range of models throughout my career, including dial-up Access Servers, and switches in addition to many routers from the 2500 series, the 2600/3600 series, the 7507, to the 7200 VXR series. I am currently in the New York City area. I have no particular ties to the area other than the mortgage on the co-op apartment. I am willing to relocate. I have attached my resume in text format. The HTML version is available from the link in my signature. If you require an other format, please let me know. -- Scott Lambert KC5MLE Unix SysAdmin lambert@lambertfam.org --7AUc2qLy4jB3hD7Z Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="Scott_Lambert_Resume.txt" Scott Lambert 11 Rockledge Rd. Wrote and maintained many custom SpamAssassin rules to improve the accuracy with changes in spam tactics. Upgraded the system monitoring system from an ancient version of NoCol to Netsaint. Fixed several critical race conditions and lack of error checking for commonly occurring error scenarios which resulted in loss of data and failure to add and remove services from the servers in most of the existing billing system to servers integration scripts. Placed BIND DNS, sendmail, GNU-RADIUS, NetSaint, Cisco, and SpamAssassin configurations in CVS for change management and distribution.
