When I start freeBSD and run KDE through the "root" acct and go to view the processors it says I only have 1. This is another strange thing. I was running SuSE beforeand it was aware of the two processors, but referred to them as "processor 0" and "processor 1". In the processor field in KDE it's calling the one processor it seeing "processor 1". So does it know about the other processor and just not display the information about it or is it only aware of 1 of the 2 processors??? Please let me know what you think. By the way, the mailing lists are a better place to discuss such questions. http://www.freebsd.org/community/mailinglists.html Regards Bj=F6rn From owner-freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Nov 28 11:02:42 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2C89B16A420 for ; Mon, 28 Nov 2005 11:02:42 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7A1F843D7D for ; Mon, 28 Nov 2005 11:02:06 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (peter@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id jASB225i088155 for ; Mon, 28 Nov 2005 11:02:02 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Received: (from peter@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.3/8.13.1/Submit) id jASB21Is088145 for freebsd-i386@freebsd.org; Mon, 28 Nov 2005 11:02:01 GMT (envelope-from owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org) Date: Mon, 28 Nov 2005 11:02:01 GMT Message-Id: <200511281102.jASB21Is088145@freefall.freebsd.org> X-Authentication-Warning: freefall.freebsd.org: peter set sender to owner-bugmaster@freebsd.org using -f From: FreeBSD bugmaster To: freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Current problem reports assigned to you X-BeenThere: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: I386-specific issues for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 28 Nov 2005 11:02:42 -0000 Current FreeBSD problem reports Critical problems S Submitted Tracker Resp. This isn't an a bug. There is a collision between the installed php and the modules You try to install since they aren't from the same version! You must have updated the ports tree since You installed php, did You? The simplest solution is to backup related configuration files, remove php and *all* php modules, update ports tree and reinstall php with the modules You want. I solved the same error in this way. Everything works fine but when it comes to extract the "ports" to /usr the system freezes. I tried to not install the "ports" collection and the installation succeeded. So I tried to install this collection later via sysinstall from different media, FTP, CD etc. but always crashed. Then I cancelled it and copied about 5GB of data via Samba on the server but after a while it freezes and says "ATA2: DISCONNECT REQUESTED". I searched the internet and bsdforen.de (which is the german bsd forum) and im not alone with this problem and not only my Controller is "affected". All hardware is very new. I tried to install FreeBSD 5.4 but it does net initialize my S-ATA RAID Controller. Its a Dawicontrol DC-150. Sometimes it hangs during the installation while formatting and creating the partitions. >How-To-Repeat: Install the ports, copy many files so HDD is busy. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Dec 2 01:51:33 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: i386@freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-i386@FreeBSD.ORG Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B448616A41F; Fri, 2 Dec 2005 01:51:33 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from tinderbox@freebsd.org) Received: from smarthost1.sentex.ca (smarthost1.sentex.ca [64.7.153.18]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6BE0E43D76; Fri, 2 Dec 2005 01:51:26 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from tinderbox@freebsd.org) Received: from smtp1.sentex.ca (smtp1c.sentex.ca [64.7.153.10]) by smarthost1.sentex.ca (8.13.4/8.13.4) with ESMTP id jB21pLdn018767; Thu, 1 Dec 2005 20:51:21 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from tinderbox@freebsd.org) Received: from freebsd-current.sentex.ca (freebsd-current.sentex.ca [64.7.128.98]) by smtp1.sentex.ca (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id jB21pKF0075552; Thu, 1 Dec 2005 20:51:20 -0500 (EST) (envelope-from tinderbox@freebsd.org) Received: by freebsd-current.sentex.ca (Postfix, from userid 666) id C61027302F; Thu, 1 Dec 2005 20:51:20 -0500 (EST) Sender: FreeBSD Tinderbox From: FreeBSD Tinderbox To: FreeBSD Tinderbox , , Precedence: bulk Message-Id: <20051202015120.C61027302F@freebsd-current.sentex.ca> Date: Thu, 1 Dec 2005 20:51:20 -0500 (EST) X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV version 0.86, clamav-milter version 0.86 on clamscanner1 X-Virus-Status: Clean X-Scanned-By: MIMEDefang 2.51 on 64.7.153.18 Cc: Subject: [head tinderbox] failure on i386/pc98 X-BeenThere: freebsd-i386@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 List-Id: I386-specific issues for FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 02 Dec 2005 01:51:34 -0000 TB --- 2005-12-02 01:21:30 - tinderbox 2.3 running on freebsd-current.sentex.ca TB --- 2005-12-02 01:21:30 - starting HEAD tinderbox run for i386/pc98 TB --- 2005-12-02 01:21:30 - cleaning the object tree TB --- 2005-12-02 01:22:02 - checking out the source tree TB --- 2005-12-02 01:22:02 - cd /tinderbox/HEAD/i386/pc98 TB --- 2005-12-02 01:22:02 - /usr/bin/cvs -f -R -q -d/home/ncvs update -Pd -A src TB --- 2005-12-02 01:27:47 - building world (CFLAGS=-O2 -pipe) TB --- 2005-12-02 01:27:47 - cd /src TB --- 2005-12-02 01:27:47 - /usr/bin/make -B buildworld >>> Rebuilding the temporary build tree >>> stage 1.1: legacy release compatibility shims >>> stage 1.2: bootstrap tools >>> stage 2.1: cleaning up the object tree >>> stage 2.2: rebuilding the object tree >>> stage 2.3: build tools >>> stage 3: cross tools >>> stage 4.1: building includes >>> stage 4.2: building libraries [...] cc -O2 -pipe -I/src/lib/libc/include -I/src/lib/libc/../../include -I/src/lib/libc/i386 -D__DBINTERFACE_PRIVATE -I/src/lib/libc/../../contrib/gdtoa -DINET6 -I/obj/pc98/src/lib/libc -DPOSIX_MISTAKE -I/src/lib/libc/locale -DBROKEN_DES -DPORTMAP -DDES_BUILTIN -I/src/lib/libc/rpc -DYP -Wsystem-headers -Werror -Wall -Wno-format-y2k -Wno-uninitialized -c /src/lib/libc/gen/__xuname.c /src/lib/libc/gen/__xuname.c: In function `__xuname': /src/lib/libc/gen/__xuname.c:74: warning: implicit declaration of function `getenv' /src/lib/libc/gen/__xuname.c:74: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast /src/lib/libc/gen/__xuname.c:75: warning: implicit declaration of function `strncpy' /src/lib/libc/gen/__xuname.c:100: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast /src/lib/libc/gen/__xuname.c:123: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast /src/lib/libc/gen/__xuname.c:137: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast *** Error code 1 Stop in /src/lib/libc. *** Error code 1 Stop in /src/lib. *** Error code 1 Stop in /src. *** Error code 1 Stop in /src. *** Error code 1 Stop in /src. *** Error code 1 Stop in /src.
