Can MIDI make it for 5.4, or is it another release without MIDI? :( [1] - http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-multimedia/2005-February/0= 01780.html P.S. - Mat, your work is appreciated. He is running a fresh 5.4-PRERELEASE. The card is a Pinnacle RAVE TV. The problem is: FreeBSD seems to know what the card is, it also seems to know what the tuner is, but we can't get any picture in motv (or any TV app for that matter). We are in the UK, so the card is not NTSC and we've verified that the aerial cables are fine. What could be the problem? The card is supposed to be supported so I'm guessing that this is just a configuration problem. Maybe the changes about MicroTune MT2032 tuners ruined the support for your card. Could you try to set the tuner in /boot/loader.conf manually? hw.bt848.tuner=1 or so? If that does not help, you could try to remove the mt2032 stuff from /sys/dev/bktr/bktr_card.c and recompile your kernel. Since I asked for the changes for my Pinnacle PCTV Rave card after R5.3, I am quite interested in solving the problems I might have caused... :-) -Arne __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! The trick was to add: --enable-tv-bsdbt848 to the CONFIGURE_ARGS. It looks like it was supposed to be autodetected, but wasn't. Perhaps another make KNOB should be added or detection fixed. The following is a patch to make it a tunable: http://www.cnd.mcgill.ca/~mat/uaudio-HEAD-buffersize-tunable.diff.gz This is not for RELENG_5. If you want it there, you'll have to catch-up with the work the Julian did in December first: http://www.cnd.mcgill.ca/~mat/usb-RELENG5-to-HEAD-Mar05-2005.diff.gz For both patches you'll have to: cd /usr/src patch < /path/to/unzipped.diff And then rebuild your snd_uaudio modules cd cd /usr/src/sys/modules/sound/driver/uaudio/ make make install Would love to hear if this works for anybody else, --Mat
