Unfortunately the card came without any box so I don't know it's manufacturer. I'm using: FreeBSD games.duras.ro 5.4-RELEASE-p7. I have loaded the bktr.ko, bktr_mem.ko, smbus.ko, iicbus.ko, iicbb.ko modules. The dmesg output shows: bktr0: MT2032: Companycode=1b1a Part=1a Revision=1b bktr0: MT2032 not found or unknown type On the card it says: Crystal TV/FM 3D Vision. I have tried the tuner and card sysctl variables = 10 and fmio and have obtained the following: radio # fmio -d bktr -f 106.7 -v 2 -i -s stereo : signal Driver: Brooktree BT848/BT878 Driver Frequency: 106.70 MHz Volume: 1 Signal: on Stereo: on Problems: 1) I can't change that volume from 1 to 0, or to something greater than 1 2) I can't hear any sound in my sound card (the cable is connected between the tuner and the line in of the sound card) I have tested the sound card by issuing cat /dev/urandom > /dev/dsp0.0 and I can hear some sound. I don't know what else to try or if I should buy another tunner (this time one that appears on the hardware supported list from the Freebsd site). Do you have any advice, or am I doing something wrong ? We're working on MFCing alot of the current soundsystem. In short: everything from current except sysctl's, since they aren't a good interface for this functionality. There's one exception in those diffs, the spdif sysctl for some drivers is there (Matthias, this is what we talked about yesterday), since other drivers in -stable already come with such a sysctl. So if someone could test those patches and report back success/failure, this would be great. Does it record the video? If I do this: ffmpeg -target ntsc-dvd -vd /dev/bktr -ad /dev/dsp -ac 2 fft.mpeg I get a dvd-size blue screen with no sound. Try setting BKTR_DEV=1 and exporting it before running ffmpeg (if that doesn't work try other values (0 and 2 are likely). You can set the default at build time of the port. I can't link it to these patches, only to my update to recent 6-STABLE (previously I've been using nov 26. stable with Ariff's nov. 26 patches). Amarok crashes when switching between songs, and I can't restart it unless I restart artsd as well. No matter what engine I use btw (it happens with xine as well). What's more, xmms crashes the same way as well (when switching between songs). Before I restart artsd, I notice that in top it stays in the state of ucond, whatever that means. (unrelated: since the update to recent 6 stable, I can't quit firefox - I have to kill firefox-bin to be able to restart it again). Nevertheless, I'm going to see if I experience these problems without these patches applied. I have now created a new homepage for it: http://www.turbocat.net/~hselasky/usb4bsd The sources are currently part of my ISDN4BSD driver, and can be downloaded by running the following command, if one has got Subversion installed: svn --username anonsvn --password anonsvn checkout svn://svn.turbocat.net/i4b This should make it very easy to make patches against my driver, if anyone has any suggestions for improvements. For those of you not familiar with svn, a patch can be produced by running the command "svn diff". It is also possible to browse the sources at the homepage without having to install SVN.
