I was going to commit www/76845, but when I went to archive the article
I found that as well as compressed HTML files, we also have PostScript
copies of the articles backed up.
Could someone please update /c/www/bsddoc/press/README with a note on
how those PostScript files are generated? I'm dead in the water now.
Thanks,
Ceri

I always used the PDF or PS printing capabilities of my webbrowser for
that. If the browser could just print into PDF files, I used pdf2ps to
convert it.
Overall I've used Safari, Konqueror and Operafor the job, so all of
these should work.
No idea what to put into that file though, is there an easy canonical
way to handle this?

Hmm, I'm not sure about the second change. I haven't found the word
productization in the Merriam Webster online dictionary or in
dict.leo.org, but a quick google search seems to indicate that this is a
common word.
Judging from the description at http://www.maxrumpus.com/services_software.=
html,
the word makes sense here.
Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

I'm in the same boat, there is no real tool to do a such conversion in a
good way, so beside asking people to print to a .ps file via their
browser, I don't really know what to add.

Yes it is, I used similar words in the releng article. Commercial
productization is a common phrase when referring to extending open
source (particularly BSD licensed code) for commercial products.
productization was the intended word and 'production' is not a good
replacement word in this context.

Seems to me like `productization' is a made up word used more than nothing
in tech. I requested this change 'cause it looked wrong to me and thought
the person who wrote this paragraph had mistaken it. It didn't make sense
to me at the moment of reading it, now it kind of does. Let's just hope
that I'm the only one who wasn't familiarized with the term.

According to an email I received from Pete Phillips : "I'm not well up on FreeBSD as we stopped offering it about 3 years ago".
>How-To-Repeat:
Listed under http://www.freebsd.org/commercial/hardware.html - the implication is that they do support FreeBSD.
>Fix:
Remove the "Digital Networks United Kingdom" entry on the http://www.freebsd.org/commercial/hardware.html web page.

Juniper Networks Licenses FSMLabs Technology for J-series Services
Router; J-Series Products Leverage Real-time Capabilities of RTCore BSD
SOCORRO, N.M. & SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2005--
FSMLabs, (http://www.fsmlabs.com), a core system software development
company targeting mission-critical applications, and Juniper Networks
today announced that Juniper Networks has licensed FSMLabs hard real-
time kernel technology, RTCore(R) BSD for use in its J-series Services
Router.
"The modern design of the JUNOS operating system has allowed Juniper the
flexibility to employ RTCore(R) BSD as a component of JUNOS, enhancing
the real-time features of the J-series routers. We are pleased to be
working with FSMLabs using its best-in-class solution to decrease the J-
series time-to-market," commented David Tucker, J-series product
marketing manager, Juniper Networks.
FSMLabs RTCore(R) technology is deployed in demanding embedded
environments, where real-time software must run at the performance
levels of the underlying hardware. RTCore(R) BSD uses the same POSIX
real-time core as FSMLabs RTLinux(R) but within FreeBSD or NetBSD
environments. "RTCore BSD helped Juniper meet product performance goals
and get to market quickly and cost-effectively," added Victor Yodaiken,
president of FSMLabs. "Our real-time technology lets equipment
manufacturers deliver devices that operate at near-line speeds for
distinct competitive advantages within either Linux or BSD
environments."
Leading OEMs today build on FSMLabs RTCore(R) to develop and deploy
applications that include routers, satellite control, telescopes, jet
engine test stands, and high performance graphical displays. FSMLabs
lets OEMs focus on value-added development activities instead of
spending weeks or months configuring and tuning embedded operating
system performance. By leveraging off-the-shelf RTCore(R), developers
can deliver working products, more quickly, with the reliability and
responsiveness needed in mission-critical applications.
About Juniper Networks, Inc.

communications over a single IP network. The company's purpose-built,

Juniper Networks to deliver products for building networks that are
tailored to the specific needs of their users, services and
applications. Juniper Networks' portfolio of proven networking and
security solutions supports the complex scale, security and performance
requirements of the world's most demanding networks. Additional

Xinterface is look like interfaces of ReGet and Downloader for X,
Xwhat allow to control download of many files without review Wget
Xlogs (but if you want to do it, you may watch them in browser window).
XWget4web writes logs and can generate reports including name and size
Xof downloaded files. You can control traffic which was got by each
Xuser. Users can download files without using shell (Wget4web
Xuse own user list) what decrease possibility of undesirable
Xserver usage.

Is www/76845 going to be committed? I'm waiting for other article
that is going to be released soon (although I'm not certain of
the date) and I'd like to send it for addition. I truly prefer
sending a pr when I do not have other one in the same doc or web
page still open.

Sorry; my window for that passed (I only had a terminal connection
available at the time), but I do intend to commit it. Submit the other
article as a new PR, and let me know - if there is merging to be done
then I'll do it.

Sure, although I'm not sure how long it is going to take to release
it. Waiting for it would probably be a bad idea. I'll send the pr
as soon as I have it.
Thanks!

Synopsis: Mozilla 1.7.5
Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-www->gnome
Responsible-Changed-By: linimon
Responsible-Changed-When: Sat Feb 5 22:53:28 GMT 2005
Responsible-Changed-Why:
Ports problems (even though they are in ports/www) are properly classified
as 'ports' problems. 'www' is used for the FreeBSD website.
Also, please help us out by only setting 'critical' for potentially
serious problems such as security-related problems, thanks. In general
broken ports are assigned to 'serious'. Remember that FreeBSD is a
volunteer project and as such these tags are strictly advisory in
any case. It will help bring some order to the chaos. Thank you.
