Then recompile xorg-server and replace 'kbd' driver with 'keyboard' driver in xorg.conf and try if it works. No, keyboard layouts are in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb under FreeBSD. Xlib should support locales that are under /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/locale. Dejan
