Thanks to existing x11-servers/xorg-server-snap port, I was able to start pretty quickly. However it's time to give results back and I started playing with the port to upgrade it to the newest snapshot. My current patch is there: http://akson.sgh.waw.pl/~saper/FreeBSD/xorg-server-snap/20051003/xorg-server-6.8.99.16-diff I have a question that require deeper knowledge of the X server internal structure: 1. Makefile generation process complains that BuildLibraries variable is already defined in xorg.cf line 169 (to YES) and gets redefined in local host.def generated by the FreeBSD configure script. Looks like we set BuildServersOnly to YES BuildXFree86ConfigTools to YES and therefore BuildLibrariesForConfigTools gets set to YES and the BuildLibraries gets redefined. What is the correct setting for our port? Should we manually override BuildLibrariesForConfigTools to "NO"? 2. Do you think there is a way to get this port testable using porttools? I tried to do that but without X libs installed in porttools temporary directory it does not work (I would need to point additionaly to $X11BASE/lib and $X11BASE/include files in additionally to $PREFIX/include and $PREFIX/lib). Is there some easy solution to this? -- << Marcin Cieslak // saper@system.pl >> From owner-freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Oct 4 05:15:59 2005 Return-Path: X-Original-To: freebsd-x11@hub.freebsd.org Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.FreeBSD.org (mx1.freebsd.org [216.136.204.125]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 588F016A420; Tue, 4 Oct 2005 05:15:59 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [216.136.204.21]) by mx1.FreeBSD.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1713B43D46; Tue, 4 Oct 2005 05:15:59 +0000 (GMT) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (linimon@localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.3/8.13.3) with ESMTP id j945FwX9018261; Tue, 4 Oct 2005 05:15:58 GMT (envelope-from linimon@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from linimon@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.13.3/8.13.1/Submit) id j945FwwH018257; Tue, 4 Oct 2005 05:15:58 GMT (envelope-from linimon) Date: Tue, 4 Oct 2005 05:15:58 GMT From: Mark Linimon Message-Id: <200510040515.j945FwwH018257@freefall.freebsd.org> To: anjau@kenet.or.ke, linimon@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/84834: Required symbol GlxSetVIsualConfigs from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/sis_drv.o is unresolved! In that case, please ignore this email. - this is the only time you will get an alert about the above mentioned port versions on the below mentioned URLs. When the port version is updated, a check will again be done for it. When a new URL with a newer version is found, a check will be done for it again. - Not interested in further alerts? Send me the email address you are received it on for a full block, or the name of the port for a port-only block, or the name of a host for a host-only block. - An overview of all newly discovered distfiles can be found at http://edwin.adsl.barnet.com.au/~edwin/ports/.
