I'd like to find someone that can help me to get the word out about FreeBSD/arm. It now runs well on a number of different evaluation boards. I'd like to start a push to get the vendors of these boards to include a link on their web pages to our site, creating web pages on our site with mini-howtos, etc. If anyone would like to contribte to the project, has some time and energy and good organizational skills, please contact me. I'd hoped to perform these functions, but I'm finding that I'm not getting them done. The goals we talked about were more around getting decent development boards that would allow other people to take a tier-1 system from a reference board and then move, with hopefully a small amount of effort, to their specific application. This is the common way in which the embedded world works. Here's the blurb from the parallax page: The Parallax USB2SER device is a mini development tool based on the FTDI232BM USB to Serial UART interface chip. Parallax created this development tool in order to provide microcontroller developers (like our BASIC Stamp customers) to have easy access to a PC's USB port using the FTDI virtual device drivers. And FreeBSD's uftdi supports it great. I've been using it to flash my Atmel AT91RM9200 eval board (and our company's custom board). For $30 it beats soldering the MAX232ish part and dealing with all that. I plug it into the headers, and it just works...
