I also confirmed what Mike is pointing and confirmed that his change enables to compile with WITHOUT_GNOMEVFS. (Confirmed after executing pkg_delete -f gnome-vfs). My tgz file is updated to reflect Mike's change. Please pick it up from http://www.tydfam.jp/eclipse-europa-dan.tgz, and give a try. PS. I accidentally made many updates of the system at a time (xorg 7.3, gnome 2.20, and -current), and I have a problem to run eclipse-europa currently. It exits with error code 1 without any core dump and I am struggling with finding the point where it exits. Any idea? I think keeping in touch with 3.3 (and thus 3.3.1) is probably the #1 goal... and of course doing what we can to streamline the patch process as we go. 3.4M would be nice to have, but I believe focusing on getting 3.3.x out of java/eclipse-devel and into java/eclipse should come first. I'm short on time right now, but I'm trying to get some extra hardware together for testing and builds under -CURRENT... I'm not about to update my production machines if there's a good chance things will break badly. (As it would seem they did for you.) As soon as I have some disposable resources online, I'll get to testing against -CURRENT. I also have some recently aquired AMD gear handy, so will get an idea of where that's at also. (Once I can figure out which components need replacing... it core dumps every few minutes right now.) It would be great if we could get away without launchersrc.zip... that sounds very promising! Again, welcome back! Cheers, Mike. If it does work, I think that we'd better use 3.3.1 rather than 3.3.0 because it does not need launchersrc.zip - now it is compiled from features/org.eclipse.equinox.executable. And I could eliminate some of patch files like patch to comment out @Override. Please pick up the file from http://www.tydfam.jp/eclipse-europa-331.tgz. I modified Makefile so that it can co-live with other eclipse (/usr/local/bin/eclipse-europa331, /usr/local/eclipse-europa331). ps. Greg, it is strange, but it works with -currentthat I cannot run eclipse-3.3.0. There might be a possiblity of contaminated executables under /usr/local/eclipse, workspace, ~/.eclipse. I don't have a workspace created on NFS, but projects which are on NFS mounts. NFS doesn't support locking, so what's in your logs is correct I'm afraid... if Eclipse is trying to flock (or similar) files on NFS, it's going to fail. If this wasn't the behavior in then 3.3.0 build, I wonder why it's appeared with 3.3.1? I did the same mistake with 3.3 before, I remember. > > > Good morning Greg et al, Thanks for getting 3.3 into the ports tree... it's great to see! Looking forward to seeing how it's accepted. I just had a quick try at rebuilding from the new port and it would appear that launchersrc.zip isn't available: => launchersrc.zip doesn't seem to exist in /usr/ports/distfiles/eclipse. => Attempting to fetch from ftp://ftp.cn.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/local-distfiles/glewis/eclipse/. fetch: ftp://ftp.cn.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/local-distfiles/glewis/eclipse/launchersrc.zip: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access) => Attempting to fetch from ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/distfiles/eclipse/. fetch: ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/distfiles/eclipse/launchersrc.zip: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access) => Couldn't fetch it - please try to retrieve this => port manually into /usr/ports/distfiles/eclipse and try again. *** Error code 1 Thanks for picking up my flub with NFS... I had to stop using rpc locking a few years back due to bad inter-vendor interop, and clearly proceeded to forget about it completely! Cheers, Mike. If you use ftp.FreeBSD.org rather than ftp.cn.FreeBSD.org then it will download. What I'm not understanding at the moment is why it doesn't cycle through all the FreeBSD mirrors like it should :(. > Thanks for picking up my flub with NFS...
