From: bf To: bug-followup@freebsd.org, mezz@freebsd.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/127661: [PATCH]textproc/libxml2: update to 2.7.1, which includes security fixes Date: Sun, 5 Oct 2008 05:11:00 -0700 (PDT) --0-1041875847-1223208661=:3816 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Here is a patch like the previous one I submitted, but for the recently released 2.7.2. The primary author claims that it corrects some of the parsing and serialization problems in earlier 2.7.x versions. Of course there is still some behavior that is different from that of 2.6.x, some of which is the consequence of the security-related changes, but I have not encountered any problems with other dependent ports on my RELENG-7 i386 box so far. Please let me know if this is acceptable, or whether you still prefer to use a patched version of 2.6.32 instead. inline Since the update to pulseaudio last week, xine stopped working. It freezes in a select state in pulseaudio. Before opening a PR, I'll need to collect a lot more information, but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has seen this and, even better, if there is a fix/work-around. I must admit that I know nothing about pulseaudio. -- R. Kevin Oberman, Network Engineer Energy Sciences Network (ESnet) Ernest O. I've recently migrated from Linux to FreeBSD and one of the "killer" apps that I miss is Gnome-Do. (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GnomeDo). I'm hoping one of the seasoned gnome port gurus could take a minute and see what would be required in creating a port for this. The latest release is available here: https://edge.launchpad.net/do/0.6/0.6.1 General dependency information here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GnomeDo/Installation Gnome-Do is a mono app, so I'm guessing a lot of the work is already done if mono, tomboy, etc are already ported. thanks, Christer --=20 --5gxpn/Q6ypwruk0T Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iQEVAwUBSOvm3JfgcHkNCE4TAQp12AgAsKbp++3p7NAdK55t1+pVR1H0pojP6456 3R/EshAPiHFVWq8IsOYdbhfue/NAHilXQT3eFPwJr93Vs8YRCOmQmF2x3If17c4v IkJ991DsmoCG9TMPD4fSl+8y7cfkt2un+aFo1OussM+9h6DLYOKfX5d695kZ09bD 3tRTreCkRttiy9Q5JSEHcHNimdF8XcE5ZNWCvwZpinpz8cKRJ2ZwbrdquQ2kbhe5 vk+LAihWW1N7Q7eelkpWFeuiyMWPavcoDWcAZXEUBQIQawxwUUIU1ylXPnDsCbil 8Aeli0TFgbjHyGPWmmLnhUSR4IgYJQ6dchx+WeNHuSOaT3BC2oalZg== =pY13 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --5gxpn/Q6ypwruk0T-- From owner-freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Oct 7 22:47:41 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5B069106568E for ; Tue, 7 Oct 2008 22:47:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from christer.edwards@gmail.com) Received: from out01.mta.xmission.com (out01.mta.xmission.com [166.70.13.231]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2D29A8FC18 for ; Tue, 7 Oct 2008 22:47:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from christer.edwards@gmail.com) Received: from mx01.mta.xmission.com ([166.70.13.211]) by out01.mta.xmission.com with esmtp (Exim 4.62) (envelope-from ) id 1KnKlk-0006XI-Kh for freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org; Tue, 07 Oct 2008 16:11:04 -0600 Received: from kuyaedz.dsl.xmission.com ([166.70.56.51] helo=sparc.zelut.org) by mx01.mta.xmission.com with esmtp (Exim 4.63) (envelope-from ) id 1KnKlh-00072w-Rl for freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org; Tue, 07 Oct 2008 16:11:02 -0600 Received: by sparc.zelut.org (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 8251311B905; Tue, 7 Oct 2008 16:10:14 -0600 (MDT) Date: Tue, 7 Oct 2008 16:10:14 -0600 From: Christer Edwards To: freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org Message-ID: <20081007221014.GD6133@sparc.zelut.org> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha512; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="i9LlY+UWpKt15+FH" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.17+20080114 (2008-01-14) X-XM-SPF: eid=; ; ; mid=; ; ; hst=mx01.mta.xmission.com; ; ; ip=166.70.56.51; ; ; frm=christer.edwards@gmail.com; ; ; spf=neutral X-XM-DomainKey: sender_domain=gmail.com; ; ; sender=christer.edwards@gmail.com; ; ; status=no signature X-SA-Exim-Connect-IP: 166.70.56.51 X-SA-Exim-Mail-From: christer.edwards@gmail.com X-Spam-DCC: XMission; sa01 1397; Body=1 Fuz1=1 Fuz2=1 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.2.5 (2008-06-10) on sa01.xmission.com X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-2.9 required=8.0 tests=ALL_TRUSTED,BAYES_05, DCC_CHECK_NEGATIVE,XM_SPF_Neutral autolearn=disabled version=3.2.5 X-Spam-Combo: ;freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org X-Spam-Relay-Country: X-Spam-Report: * -1.8 ALL_TRUSTED Passed through trusted hosts only via SMTP * -1.1 BAYES_05 BODY: Bayesian spam probability is 1 to 5% * [score: 0.0446] * -0.0 DCC_CHECK_NEGATIVE Not listed in DCC * [sa01 1397; Body=1 Fuz1=1 Fuz2=1] * 0.0 XM_SPF_Neutral SPF-Neutral X-SA-Exim-Version: 4.2.1 (built Thu, 07 Dec 2006 04:40:56 +0000) X-SA-Exim-Scanned: Yes (on mx01.mta.xmission.com) Subject: gnome-do port X-BeenThere: freebsd-gnome@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: GNOME for FreeBSD -- porting and maintaining List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 07 Oct 2008 22:47:41 -0000 --i9LlY+UWpKt15+FH Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I've recently switched to FreeBSD and one of the killer-apps that I'm really missing from the Linux world is "gnome-do" (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GnomeDo). Any feedback is welcome. thanks!
