Accoring to .INF file of Windows driver from vendor the hardware supports Tx/Rx checksum offload, jumbo frame as well as WOL. Linux have a driver for these controllers but the code has lots of magic registers and hardcoded magic parameters so it's very hard to understand what the magic value really means. So I guess Linux also lacks documentation for the hardware and they may have spent hardtime to make it work. Maybe the last resort in FreeBSD would be ndis(4). I don't have SiS190/SiS191 hardware so I don't know whether ndis(4) works or not but you can get help from weongyo@ for ndis(4) issues. > -- > John Baldwin -- Regards, Pyun YongHyeon From owner-freebsd-hardware@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Mar 12 11:54:46 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3D3C9106566C for ; Wed, 12 Mar 2008 11:54:46 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from priest.romeo@gmail.com) Received: from wr-out-0506.google.com (wr-out-0506.google.com [64.233.184.235]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EE9B48FC1C for ; Wed, 12 Mar 2008 11:54:45 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from priest.romeo@gmail.com) Received: by wr-out-0506.google.com with SMTP id c49so2136672wra.19 for ; Wed, 12 Mar 2008 04:54:45 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:received:received:message-id:date:from:to:subject:mime-version:content-type; bh=SO3nwnEtTDhTK+vm5sLhICo0OmJHgzjNGkr9DZbDVwE=; b=aY3RawRWwI7G0M4VI4wDSfGGLIunwGOhTOjGOpyJr7ErWyi6rMcQCeig4tYCJUAIgZ4Tis4K5FqvmhGlG/HjaKADaDHnMEq5GnvF6r0WyIUTFyjThychIX2k7iMIzi1yhxHb6Q7A0N51JZg5X26LSuoI1qHWW0f2SIMVzKncnqM= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=message-id:date:from:to:subject:mime-version:content-type; b=RshofGfGKqcNXLOunLZqtsWphG3qclp4awP22CEbFar2p5ZSdOcAS5Gu4KM2WbVZVQK0aNuoLw7RORw0T/kcbRcKeZzflBYaU6YQc7P6Q1rUlaSABD9MiiXcVrXbAKA+oyc/gIy8QFWwRpK9ixKP6S0kkyfo3k57RRS5Yxj2RG4= Received: by 10.151.38.12 with SMTP id q12mr4479156ybj.18.1205321178867; Wed, 12 Mar 2008 04:26:18 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.150.143.2 with HTTP; Wed, 12 Mar 2008 04:26:18 -0700 (PDT) Message-ID: Date: Wed, 12 Mar 2008 13:26:18 +0200 From: "Aleksei Ivanov" To: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Subject: PS/2 Mouses problems on v6.3 Release AMD64 X-BeenThere: freebsd-hardware@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: General discussion of FreeBSD hardware List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 12 Mar 2008 11:54:46 -0000 OS: FreeBSD v6.3 Release AMD64 Config: S939 AMD Athlon 3200+ ; MSI @ nVidia nForce 4 ; Samsung DDR PC-3200 256x2 ; nVidia GeForce 7300SE 128Mb Issue: Optical PS/2 Mice doesn't work correctly I tried 3 mice: A4Tech OP-620D, Genius GM-050008P, A4Tech OP-50D all PS/2 A4Tech mice were initialized by OS, after runing mouse daemon mice became moving any unexpectible way and it looked like buttons were pushed as they wanted, under console or X11 Genius mouse were defined in dmesg.boot as InelliMouse, and when I started Testing Mouse in Sysinstall it worked fine, until I left the test window. The professor kept saying "hit function-f8" but that didn't go. I am running gnome on freeBSD [kayve@kv_bsd ~]$ uname -a FreeBSD kv_bsd 6.2-RELEASE FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE #0: Fri Jan 12 10:40:27 UTC 2007 root@dessler.cse.buffalo.edu:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 [kayve@kv_bsd ~]$ He said it was all about BIOS, but we were trying to hit func-f8 during gnome running, so I thought I would get a second opinion.
