I am upgrading the hardware and also transitioning to a new IP address. Presently we have: cvsup.freebsd.org is an alias for n.cwu.edu. n.cwu.edu has address 198.104.69.57 We need to change that CNAME to point at the new host which has IP address 72.233.193.64: bsn0-0.edmz.cwu.edu. We also need to change the permissions on cvsup-master.freebsd.org to allow 72.233.193.64 (bsn0-0.edmz.cwu.edu) to sync from it. The new server is operational, visible to the Internet and is presently syncing locally from the old one, n.cwu.edu. While the CNAME change can happen anytime, it would be ideal if there could be some overlap in the permissions at cvsup-master - in case the change is made at an instant when I am not around to apply the corresponding change on this end. Regards, -Chris Timmons p.s. Back when John Polstra & I set the original machine up circa 2000, we thought that an 8G repository partion would last a really long time. I guess it did, but time is running out :) /dev/vinum/fbsdrep 8131277 7409265 71510 99% /fbsdrep From owner-freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Jul 1 11:05:11 2008 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C0AD21065674 for ; Tue, 1 Jul 2008 11:05:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from edwin@mavetju.org) Received: from mail5out.barnet.com.au (mail5.barnet.com.au [202.83.178.78]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 839A18FC2B for ; Tue, 1 Jul 2008 11:05:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from edwin@mavetju.org) Received: by mail5out.barnet.com.au (Postfix, from userid 1001) id 2284C2218A78; Tue, 1 Jul 2008 20:48:50 +1000 (EST) X-Viruscan-Id: <486A0B92000144AF7D62CA@BarNet> Received: from mail5auth.barnet.com.au (mail5.barnet.com.au [202.83.178.78]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mail5auth.barnet.com.au", Issuer "*.barnet.com.au" (verified OK)) by mail5.barnet.com.au (Postfix) with ESMTP id DAA8021B3FA9 for ; Tue, 1 Jul 2008 20:48:49 +1000 (EST) Received: from k7.mavetju (unknown [10.10.26.10]) by mail5auth.barnet.com.au (Postfix) with ESMTP id 934FC2218A6B for ; Tue, 1 Jul 2008 20:48:49 +1000 (EST) Received: by k7.mavetju (Postfix, from userid 1001) id 4575F99D; Tue, 1 Jul 2008 20:48:32 +1000 (EST) Date: Tue, 1 Jul 2008 20:48:32 +1000 From: Edwin Groothuis To: freebsd-hubs@FreeBSD.org Message-ID: <20080701104832.GA81610@k7.mavetju> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.4.2.3i Cc: Subject: Change of order in Australian FTP mirrors X-BeenThere: freebsd-hubs@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: "FreeBSD Distributions Hubs: mail sup ftp" List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 01 Jul 2008 11:05:11 -0000 With the demise of Planet Mirror, and thus the quality of ftp.au.freebsd.org, a small change has happened with regarding to the numbering of the Australian FTP mirrors: ftp.au.freebsd.org - Was planetmirror.com, is now aarnet.edu.au ftp2.au.freebsd.org - Was aarnet, edu.au is now pacific.net.au ftp3.au.freebsd.org - Was pacific.net.au, is now internode.on.net ftp4.au.freebsd.org - Was internode.on.ne, is now planetmirror.com Thanks to Jarrod Sayers for a quick reaction on this change request.
