Hrm, the setGlobalThreadCount() test crashes in a bizarre way in libthr; I can only reproduce this with 7.0-BETA4 and 7.0-PRERELEASE though. The whole test suite succeeds on 8.0-CURRENT and it also doesn't crash when running a 8.0-CURRENT kernel with the 7.0 userland on the same machine, which suggests that some important kernel fix in HEAD hasn't been MFC'ed, yet... > > In debugging it though, it seems that gdb doesn't support thread > debugging on sparc64 which is causing some problems... is this due to > the lack of TLS? I also don't think it would be a graphics > card issue since it hangs when loading the kernel. It's just a theory, but I presume the kernel hangs because it wants to output text, but lacks even text mode support for that chipset. /Didrik Madheden -----BEGIN 2ROT13 MESSAGE----- Low Bitrate Netlabel: Blog: SKRIVA p=E5 Lysator. This is precisely the symptoms I saw whan I had my Expert 3D-Lite in my Blade. iirc, the last message I saw on the console was "Jumping to " If you know the model of video card (many of them display that in the top left curner during POST) we could let you know if it's known to not work. What it seems to boil down to is that if it is a 3Dlabs based card, it will not work.
