It is tested with porttools ("port test" to be specific),and AFAICT passes ok. When properly tested, I will submit a PR. However, I am not really sure that we should upgrade without keeping the old port around. Why? Well, a few grabbers have disappeared from the new version, and I am not sure what ill effects that will have. For my country, tv_grab_no is replaced with tv_grab_no_gfeed. The new grabber is technically much better than the old one, but it have listings for fewer channels than the old one. For the other countries, I can only speculate. I see that tv_grab_be is missing from the new version, and don't know if there is a replacement. Yes. The 1800 has a 64-bit DMA engine, so it can be used with > 4GB with no performance penalty. The older 32-bit cx88 cards are also supported on large-memory machines, but their DMA routines may use double-buffering. As you thought Jason, the kernel side interfaces of the card were properly recognised by cx88 port. I've attached verbose dmesg at the end (although there are no problems - it has attached just fine.) Konstantin: is there any code for DVB-S tuning/capturing I could look at to attempt to port this card? Both should be valid but the former is probably a bit faster. At least tell someone of the gnome@ team about it. I've seen that the ontv version is already quite outdated so it probably makes sense to update it to the latest version when you're at it. So go ahead and contact the gnome@ people - irc is usually the fastest. -- Bernhard Fröhlich http://www.bluelife.at/ From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Mon Nov 16 21:08:13 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4262910656AA for ; Mon, 16 Nov 2009 21:08:13 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no) Received: from bgo1smout1.broadpark.no (bgo1smout1.broadpark.no [217.13.4.94]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id D87658FC2B for ; Mon, 16 Nov 2009 21:08:12 +0000 (UTC) MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: multipart/mixed; boundary="Boundary_(ID_URlcY5kedSAKXOiDeUBtbA)" Received: from bgo1sminn1.broadpark.no ([217.13.4.93]) by bgo1smout1.broadpark.no (Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-3.01 (built Jul 12 2007; 32bit)) with ESMTP id <0KT80004V01NBJC0@bgo1smout1.broadpark.no> for freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org; Mon, 16 Nov 2009 22:08:11 +0100 (CET) Received: from kg-v2.kg4.no ([80.203.92.186]) by bgo1sminn1.broadpark.no (Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-3.01 (built Jul 12 2007; 32bit)) with SMTP id <0KT800AVZ01N9T82@bgo1sminn1.broadpark.no> for freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org; Mon, 16 Nov 2009 22:08:11 +0100 (CET) Date: Mon, 16 Nov 2009 22:08:11 +0100 From: Torfinn Ingolfsen To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Message-id: <20091116220811.344c0429.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> In-reply-to: <20091115204205.482e6a15@bluelife.at> References: <20091115204205.482e6a15@bluelife.at> X-Mailer: Sylpheed 2.7.1 (GTK+ 2.16.6; amd64-portbld-freebsd7.2) X-Face: "t9w2,-X@O^I`jVW\sonI3.,36KBLZE*AL[y9lL[PyFD*r_S:dIL9c[8Y>V42R0"!"yb_zN,f#%.[PYYNq; m"_0v; ~rUM2Yy!zmkh)3&U|u!=T(zyv,MHJv"nDH>OJ`t(@mil461d_B'Uo|'nMwlKe0Mv=kvV?Nh@>Hb<3s_z2jYgZhPb@?Wi^x1a~Hplz1.zH Subject: Re: Call for Testers: MythTV 0.22 X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 16 Nov 2009 21:08:13 -0000 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Boundary_(ID_URlcY5kedSAKXOiDeUBtbA) Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Initial testing report: On Sun, 15 Nov 2009 20:42:05 +0100 Bernhard Froehlich wrote: > MythTV 0.22 is ready for testing! For my current backend, I only do manual db backups (I've been lucky so far). But when MythTV 0.22 comes to FreeBSd, I wil try to build / set up a better backend. MythTV have "official" backup and restore scripts[1], I haven't (yet) tried those. I see that there is mysqlbackup[2] in ports, but perhaps there is other solutions too? What are people using? Thanks for the hint. Haven't looked at it yet but it probably is because i cannot and do not use --extra-cflags (because it otherwise pulls installed ffmpeg from /usr/local in where it shouldn't and breaks build in strange ways) so configure has to be fixed here and there so that it searches in /usr/local and this looks exactly like one place i missed. -- Bernhard Fröhlich http://www.bluelife.at/ From owner-freebsd-multimedia@FreeBSD.ORG Fri Nov 20 10:41:22 2009 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C441F10656A8 for ; Fri, 20 Nov 2009 10:41:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no) Received: from bgo1smout1.broadpark.no (bgo1smout1.broadpark.no [217.13.4.94]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7EB1C8FC14 for ; Fri, 20 Nov 2009 10:41:22 +0000 (UTC) MIME-version: 1.0 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Received: from bgo1sminn1.broadpark.no ([217.13.4.93]) by bgo1smout1.broadpark.no (Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-3.01 (built Jul 12 2007; 32bit)) with ESMTP id <0KTE00CQRLODR0A0@bgo1smout1.broadpark.no> for freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org; Fri, 20 Nov 2009 11:41:01 +0100 (CET) Received: from kg-v2.kg4.no ([80.203.92.186]) by bgo1sminn1.broadpark.no (Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-3.01 (built Jul 12 2007; 32bit)) with SMTP id <0KTE004KWLOCBE60@bgo1sminn1.broadpark.no> for freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org; Fri, 20 Nov 2009 11:41:01 +0100 (CET) Date: Fri, 20 Nov 2009 11:41:00 +0100 From: Torfinn Ingolfsen To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org Message-id: <20091120114100.9bec7d49.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> In-reply-to: <20091120085925.f75b3e73.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> References: <20091115204205.482e6a15@bluelife.at> <20091120085925.f75b3e73.torfinn.ingolfsen@broadpark.no> X-Mailer: Sylpheed 2.7.1 (GTK+ 2.16.6; amd64-portbld-freebsd7.2) X-Face: "t9w2,-X@O^I`jVW\sonI3.,36KBLZE*AL[y9lL[PyFD*r_S:dIL9c[8Y>V42R0"!"yb_zN,f#%.[PYYNq; m"_0v; ~rUM2Yy!zmkh)3&U|u!=T(zyv,MHJv"nDH>OJ`t(@mil461d_B'Uo|'nMwlKe0Mv=kvV?Nh@>Hb<3s_z2jYgZhPb@?Wi^x1a~Hplz1.zH Subject: Re: Call for Testers: MythTV 0.22 X-BeenThere: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Multimedia discussions List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 20 Nov 2009 10:41:22 -0000 On Fri, 20 Nov 2009 08:59:25 +0100 Torfinn Ingolfsen wrote: > I don't understand why x11 support isn't autodetected, but that neeeds > to be fixed somehow. I just wonder why it is we are experiencing this problem on FBSD, but the guys on Linux apparently have no such problems? Is there a How-to-debug-configure-for-dummies out there somewhere? Or is configure intended to be the replacement source of frustration now that we have postfix and can avoid beating our heads against sendmail.cf?
