Ideal would be a memory image which I could transfer to an USB Stick and boot the plug computer from it. Is there such available? Of course it would be very encouraging if I could get in contact with other FreeBSD users for that little plugin computer device. :-) Regards, Marc From owner-freebsd-arm@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Nov 30 01:32:11 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-arm@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EA92B106564A for ; Tue, 30 Nov 2010 01:32:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from johny.mattsson@gmail.com) Received: from mail-ww0-f50.google.com (mail-ww0-f50.google.com [74.125.82.50]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7C8658FC12 for ; Tue, 30 Nov 2010 01:32:11 +0000 (UTC) Received: by wwf26 with SMTP id 26so939058wwf.31 for ; Mon, 29 Nov 2010 17:32:10 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:mime-version:received:sender:received :in-reply-to:references:date:x-google-sender-auth:message-id:subject :from:to:cc:content-type; bh=aQf7E2DWfsZjjQsW5SqTMfkzeWET6uCqKq1EJemyc/M=; b=x0/pBCyF+YRMWWd2fPaayYBWiw+v/DwIexePTpDWLMUC3uMgriPhlsenrAhhWKQuPv 78Bh0NzrYzuf4+8afASQ1tN6oIf+WgL/hjTcTfWvD5x07EPv2MP/V7gVGW3nw/29UGtC 9PEHFHINIFPpB/Zrw5zNjsc8BYgbavyJBjMG4= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=mime-version:sender:in-reply-to:references:date :x-google-sender-auth:message-id:subject:from:to:cc:content-type; b=wuuqfjI9m11B977z4dgglKvNCkwW/zgfJa5szZw16NaUBzVFxeL/JkxyT3K+o0UBDN EoSyoUM+Pcuftpi2eKEA4W0Y31Zi/Kk+iclp8OTAUmm2qFQbEHFzhU2iWGGmINXc8Kl3 E8o+XoOSfFOLr5emsriarJlWLniK/PGnACNu8= MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.216.154.202 with SMTP id h52mr5762982wek.46.1291078835090; Mon, 29 Nov 2010 17:00:35 -0800 (PST) Sender: johny.mattsson@gmail.com Received: by 10.216.178.83 with HTTP; Mon, 29 Nov 2010 17:00:34 -0800 (PST) In-Reply-To: References: Date: Tue, 30 Nov 2010 12:00:34 +1100 X-Google-Sender-Auth: 4-p5RAe1xhgbu5xwSr3DObw7w_I Message-ID: From: Johny Mattsson To: Marc van Woerkom Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Cc: freebsd-arm@freebsd.org Subject: Re: FreeBSD on Sheeva Plug X-BeenThere: freebsd-arm@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the StrongARM Processor List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 30 Nov 2010 01:32:12 -0000 On 30 November 2010 05:06, Marc van Woerkom wrote: > Hi, > > I got a Tonido Olug, which is a Sheeva Plug, and would like to run FreeBSD > ARM on it. > Ideal would be a memory image which I could transfer to an USB Stick and > boot the plug computer from it. > Is there such available? When I got my first Sheeva derivative, I found this site extremely helpful: http://cooltrainer.org/projects/freebsd-kirkwood/ If you've got more than 128MB of RAM, you'll also want to grab the patch that's attached to this bug report, or you'll run into issues with USB I/O: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=arm/150581 Cheers, /Johny From owner-freebsd-arm@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Nov 30 09:46:50 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-arm@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id A66D5106566B for ; Tue, 30 Nov 2010 09:46:50 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from marc.vanwoerkom@googlemail.com) Received: from mail-iw0-f182.google.com (mail-iw0-f182.google.com [209.85.214.182]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 6B50F8FC19 for ; Tue, 30 Nov 2010 09:46:50 +0000 (UTC) Received: by iwn39 with SMTP id 39so6822626iwn.13 for ; Tue, 30 Nov 2010 01:46:50 -0800 (PST) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=googlemail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:mime-version:received:received:in-reply-to :references:date:message-id:subject:from:to:cc:content-type; bh=crxcgrQjwzdgAcBktU5TrYsmv4S3y9NIBJH5ZI+8wjc=; b=sCB8YSi3842n3vZ0eSyCyj7TPElTaA/jz9o5HO1rfFyLt9aqo9itgtMNDQA3ZLlQi7 YR5ucY62l1X1p+GmyBd60o1xXMbgWRJat03aL2XsOWwGvYM8Px5fYxij2axCJm0/BHFZ YpGrC29yYrW27FhrLAzbGCFQR8YffwMew9ctA= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=googlemail.com; s=gamma; h=mime-version:in-reply-to:references:date:message-id:subject:from:to :cc:content-type; b=YPjiOARhdLamdx6fi2ihLMws1twmrKjfaP86RWxzLTS5tnrut3R/eOBHv3qKSOIMl6 4vMQ6MQ6NeV9a4/jMwzFuN0M4C/W7uyotN7NwUnFzTNhrEbcj2gfTiREhYCtATR5AdMO NjRZlz2hD8To8wRU+2hsLUAEBdbM5mZejxQwQ= MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.231.34.8 with SMTP id j8mr7115537ibd.121.1291110409174; Tue, 30 Nov 2010 01:46:49 -0800 (PST) Received: by 10.231.152.142 with HTTP; Tue, 30 Nov 2010 01:46:49 -0800 (PST) In-Reply-To: References: Date: Tue, 30 Nov 2010 10:46:49 +0100 Message-ID: From: Marc van Woerkom To: Johny Mattsson Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: freebsd-arm@freebsd.org Subject: Re: FreeBSD on Sheeva Plug X-BeenThere: freebsd-arm@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to the StrongARM Processor List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 30 Nov 2010 09:46:50 -0000 That looks pretty good and complete!
