The problem is that if file name that I want to patch contains underscore (_) patch needs to have two underscores instead. For example I want to patch src/freeglut_joystick.c patch should be named patch-src-freeglut__joustick.c I'm sure that if such info was available on porters handbook, it would help many other porters :) Also It would be very nice if Section 4.4 would contain info about make makepatch :) porter can copy original files, that he wants to patch to same filename with .orig file extension, modify original file and then in ports directory run make make patch. This will create patch files for all *.orig files :) I think such information would be super helpful. >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: From owner-freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.ORG Mon May 31 12:16:23 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: doc@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 52D66106566B for ; Mon, 31 May 2010 12:16:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from Kantirao.Thippeswamy@kpitcummins.com) Received: from VA3EHSOBE001.bigfish.com (va3ehsobe001.messaging.microsoft.com [216.32.180.11]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0CFF78FC13 for ; Mon, 31 May 2010 12:16:22 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mail146-va3-R.bigfish.com (10.7.14.241) by VA3EHSOBE001.bigfish.com (10.7.40.21) with Microsoft SMTP Server id 8.1.340.0; Mon, 31 May 2010 12:01:17 +0000 Received: from mail146-va3 (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by mail146-va3-R.bigfish.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id B158712C0352 for ; Mon, 31 May 2010 12:01:16 +0000 (UTC) X-SpamScore: 1 X-BigFish: VPS1(zzzz1202hz4fhzz32i2a8h43h61h) X-Spam-TCS-SCL: 0:0 Received: from mail146-va3 (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by mail146-va3 (MessageSwitch) id 1275307276433864_22504; Mon, 31 May 2010 12:01:16 +0000 (UTC) Received: from VA3EHSMHS031.bigfish.com (unknown [10.7.14.254]) by mail146-va3.bigfish.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 54FD56D804E for ; Mon, 31 May 2010 12:01:16 +0000 (UTC) Received: from kcinpunhjhc02.kpit.com (220.225.38.51) by VA3EHSMHS031.bigfish.com (10.7.99.41) with Microsoft SMTP Server (TLS) id 14.0.482.44; Mon, 31 May 2010 12:01:15 +0000 Received: from Kcinpunhjcms01.kpit.com ([169.254.1.87]) by kcinpunhjhc02.kpit.com ([172.10.16.124]) with mapi; Mon, 31 May 2010 17:31:12 +0530 From: "Kantirao M.
