Basic specs: O2, 1*180MHz R5000 CPU, 320MB RAM, 2*72GB SCSI disks, CDROM, PCI Adaptec SCSI card, spare PCI 2nd ethernet, spare disk caddy, spare 72GB SCSI disk, spare PCI riser, IRIX CD set IRIX PROM 'hinv' and NetBSD 'dmesg' are included below. The only blemish on this O2 is it's missing the blue skins -- i.e. it only has the plastic "skirt" around the bottom, and the rest of the square metal chassis is intact, but uncovered. I can probably send a picture if anyone is really interested for some reason, but if you're familiar with the rackmount O2 option SGI sold for a little while, it looks pretty much just like that. The insides are totally functional. All I ask in return is reimbursement for shipping (in $US funds only please), and local pickups in Silicon Valley are also welcome. We're still actually committing to the mips branch. But we're happy with the branch now, except for one issue that I'm fixing today. Once that's fixed, I plan on merging all the changes from the mips branch into head, likely this week. There may also be a back-port of the mips stuff to the stable/8 tree, but that's still a little up in the air... Plus there's likely to be big changes to how the Octeon port is done too... Here's my tree: http://www.SpringDaemons.com/stas/uboot-atamantb.tar.bz2 It is based on the Nov 2008's uboot GIT, but I think it can be faily easy m= erged with usptream (there were no obtrusive changes). To build use `gmake CROSS_COMPILE=3Darm-rtems- yourplatformname_config & gmake CROSS_COMPILE=3Darm-rtems-` (or mips-rtems- for mips). For example of usage of new config options we added see include/configs/atamantb.h. E.g. for FFS support you need to add '#define CONFIG_CMD_FFS', and '#define CONFIG_CMD_BOOTBSD' will add 'bootbsd' and 'kenv' commands. There's history in tree (use `hg log`), so you can take out patches needed, if you'll need to apply them to another tree. Hope that helps. --=20 Stanislav Sedov ST4096-RIPE --Signature=_Tue__5_Jan_2010_16_06_33_-0800_woi_MVZXj+5vVRug Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJLQ9QNAAoJEL8lojEJL9nwxZQQAIKKMxvQjHYAEA0Zau3XF0Tq f15LIU6qDAhhIB4EZSwn4td1ukgQIXy7fB8Xf8AyFSutoJ1lzw6AZpPjJttj4Uym vgg8sojzLXfZbmzvbnl8BWvdt/3Wf9GWMY/Znk5YUD4MG5w8zAfrL4qfXihqjPhV X7GD7RDEIJtzUvIPbhVNSdBZan8pGJrLIWAgZjgeKx4DJH4JwaVeevE/RdwPJexc QSX33iN2O6QcbPatJCdqLD6copCdl63m9oYM3bYQxzjSsRGNRDIX+0F0VXw8dN/Q WmgirbDeWKhDbJ2cHADu/NC3NvLdZPFFu7oauy8nMYpe7gC9kS4GXVSbbVDBTafp e32bSisSUMF2TNL9w1I4XfBf/JcdReFF0DrKJ0y6YkcNlPrim1EYDAYsBl2pZTvd I0vlKu/gxlmQpCdgg1YjFeb2RrNFameMQbNfN5EJyGWREOEbAZVjGsWOY8/qzbHz evg06c2+/+h0y0KCjXuwgc3BtJg8eX4I2ptTwBilUswEkxr0nDzzvVBObXSyiNkP vg7GdhwcZ030YEsKjRpXoyhUTAt4d7y69TH3AWh7+AcnC2IdzepdOMwTIGiPoa8z UZy7qjusjCsHlL8eUytH1Iskmzuv7p07DxqwQUWrqcuuaMlKa6wbpbHHzDrB9qvL 4B74ETWQOgS6Km4/HV3d =oWVw -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Signature=_Tue__5_Jan_2010_16_06_33_-0800_woi_MVZXj+5vVRug-- From owner-freebsd-mips@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Jan 6 07:33:37 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-mips@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 561851065670 for ; Wed, 6 Jan 2010 07:33:37 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from mahan@mahan.org) Received: from ns.mahan.org (ns.mahan.org [67.116.10.138]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E5E238FC14 for ; Wed, 6 Jan 2010 07:33:36 +0000 (UTC) Received: from Gypsy.mahan.org (crowTrobot [67.116.10.140]) by ns.mahan.org (8.13.6/8.13.6) with ESMTP id o0671JrU038916; Tue, 5 Jan 2010 23:01:19 -0800 (PST) (envelope-from mahan@mahan.org) Message-ID: <4B4433ED.10103@mahan.org> Date: Tue, 05 Jan 2010 22:55:41 -0800 From: Patrick Mahan User-Agent: Thunderbird 2.0.0.22 (X11/20090605) MIME-Version: 1.0 To: alan yang References: <20100104.131324.858349725408038608.imp@bsdimp.com> <290865fd1001051444x124107b9x22d91c211b71b6ae@mail.gmail.com> <20100105.160221.441937720437721844.imp@bsdimp.com> <290865fd1001051526i73dd96d7x18a7a842b903b61d@mail.gmail.com> In-Reply-To: <290865fd1001051526i73dd96d7x18a7a842b903b61d@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: freebsd-mips@freebsd.org Subject: Re: Cavium port X-BeenThere: freebsd-mips@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Porting FreeBSD to MIPS List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 06 Jan 2010 07:33:37 -0000 alan yang wrote: >> However, the good news is that this version of u-boot will boot >> FreeBSD kernel. Use bootoctlinux to boot FreeBSD just as if you were booting a linux kernel. Most octeons are used in an embedded environment and booting is done usually via u-boot loading the kernel from either CF, FATFS or IDE EXT2 filesystem. Most are not using HD. I'll send an all-clear when this is done. Expect some choppy waves as the merge history of projects/mips isn't what you'd want and so we're running a skewed version of head on that branch at the moment. Once the merge is done, projects/mips will be retired. It may be replaced by a new "work in progress" branch. Details about that will be announced when the branch is created. When I send an all-clear, I'll send out an update on the newly supported cores, SoC, etc. Please let me know if you have any questions...
