Currently there are calls to modprobe and fusermount that don't work. There may be other problems, but I was getting stuck on those. -- Andrew Paulsen PacketDigital, LLC 201 N 5th St, Suite 1500 Fargo, ND 58102 701.365.4394 - 701.232.0491 (fax) andrew.paulsen@packetdigital.com From owner-freebsd-mono@FreeBSD.ORG Tue Jun 15 07:38:44 2010 Return-Path: Delivered-To: mono@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 272EC106566B for ; Tue, 15 Jun 2010 07:38:44 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from romain@blogreen.org) Received: from marvin.blogreen.org (unknown [IPv6:2a01:e35:2f7d:58c0::2]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 9C15D8FC0C for ; Tue, 15 Jun 2010 07:38:43 +0000 (UTC) Received: by marvin.blogreen.org (Postfix, from userid 1001) id 6C219C7F9; Tue, 15 Jun 2010 09:38:42 +0200 (CEST) Date: Tue, 15 Jun 2010 09:38:42 +0200 From: Romain =?iso-8859-1?Q?Tarti=E8re?= To: Andrew Paulsen Message-ID: <20100615073841.GA9760@blogreen.org> References: <4C16A27A.5050800@packetdigital.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="fUYQa+Pmc3FrFX/N" Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <4C16A27A.5050800@packetdigital.com> X-PGP-Key: http://romain.blogreen.org/pubkey.asc User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.20 (2009-06-14) Cc: mono@FreeBSD.org Subject: Re: tomboy sshfs sync X-BeenThere: freebsd-mono@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: Mono and C# applications on FreeBSD List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Tue, 15 Jun 2010 07:38:44 -0000 --fUYQa+Pmc3FrFX/N Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi Andrew, On Mon, Jun 14, 2010 at 04:43:22PM -0500, Andrew Paulsen wrote: > I was wondering if there is any work being done to port Tomboy's sshfs > syncing to FreeBSD. I had a look a while ago and got to the conclusion that for code readability and maintenance, it would be better to do major refactoring for all os-related code. The very bad news is that I just realised that I did this in the svn checkout of the code (it was a while ago) and I removed it without backing-up a diff before cloning the new git repository when GNOME switched to git. I am therefore not able to provide my dirty patches :-/. AFAICR, it has been somewhat trivial to have the code working on FreeBSD, but because 1) the hack was ugly and 2) sshfs (at least in this use case) is problem-prone (if I recall correctly, I had to manually umount sshfs mounts a couple of times in order to launch Tomboy again) I never pushed this in the BSD# repos. Please tell me if you can take care of this and contribute a patch. If not, I might find a little time for a workaround by the end of the month but can't promise anything. A nice solution would be do the refactoring required to make Tomboy OS-agnostic and cope with FreeBSD and GNU/Linux and provide the ability to add extended support for other operating systems and merge it upstream. It's currently low in my TODO-list but if there is much demand for this I might reconsider scheduling it with a higher priority. Thanks!
