Couldn't find a $VERSION in prerequisite ExtUtils::MakeMaker I know that p5-ExtUtils is installed with the correct version so it didn't really matter. But I also know that CPAN's version of ExtUtils::MakeMaker does have a $VERSION line. So I've finally investigated this and found out that Module::Build is not looking at p5-ExtUtil's MakeMaker but perl5.8's BSDPAN ExtUtil::MakeMaker. I traced this back to a commit made in 2005 [0], which places the BSDPAN before site_perl. Is there any reason that this version of MakeMaker is bundled with perl5.8?
