It was on a box that i don't use Xorg from the devel repository, this box has also an nvidia card. On my laptop i use intel with the kms patches. Can you please test Chromium without files/patch-ui__base__x__x11_util.cc? With this patch removed and kern.ipc.shm_allow_removed=0 Chromium does not detect any X shared memory support, this has changed with ports/157730. I have Chromium 15 almost ready so i will do some test too. In the last couple of weeks I wanted to give chromium a try. I compiled the latest version from ports. It seems to work great but it randomly loses its focus when typing something in a textbox. Clicking in the box doesn't help and sometimes you have to refresh the page or just wait until it feels like focusing again. I have this same problem on both my computers. I am running 8.2 on AMD64 if that matters. Is anyone else having the same problem and is there a solution to it? Thanks very much!! I tried removing the patch and kern.ipc.shm_allow_removed was already 0. I recompiled and reinstalled and I still get lock ups. As mentioned in the other new thread, this is mainly on text entry fields. But sometimes on just plain web pages. My best repro so far is to open a page with a form that incorporates some javascript (i.e. bugzilla) and switch back and forth between at least three text fields inputting/deleting characters. Sometimes it helps to move back and forth between two applications and the web form. Eventually it will block for seconds / minutes. I am not on amd64, but on i386. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.18 (FreeBSD) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk6UZC4ACgkQrDN5kXnx8yaEvQCggTIJnfhPipSb1qwtu8nmi7dN kNQAnRRsLoLVjgqgHQnHMCspZNiq2uo6 =DznC -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From owner-freebsd-chromium@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Oct 12 19:30:34 2011 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org Received: by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix, from userid 1233) id 287DD1065679; Wed, 12 Oct 2011 19:30:34 +0000 (UTC) Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2011 19:30:34 +0000 From: Alexander Best To: George Liaskos Message-ID: <20111012193034.GA63846@freebsd.org> References: <20111008190453.GA18220@freebsd.org> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: Cc: freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org Subject: Re: freezing tabs X-BeenThere: freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD-specific Chromium issues List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 12 Oct 2011 19:30:34 -0000 On Mon Oct 10 11, George Liaskos wrote: > On Sat, Oct 8, 2011 at 10:04 PM, Alexander Best wrote: > > hi there, > > > > does anybody experience this behavior, too? sometimes chromium's tabs are > > freezing and nothing seems to work anymore. a 'sudo ipcrm -W' clears the > > situation. i've disabled the linux flash plugin and it still occurs. > > > > i'm running HEAD (r226023) on amd64. > > > > cheers. > > alex > > _______________________________________________ > > freebsd-chromium@freebsd.org mailing list > > http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-chromium > > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-chromium-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" > > > > Hello, > > I 've experienced this issue yesterday.
