Please run the gnomelogalyzer, available from "http://www.freebsd.org/gnome/gnomelogalyzer.sh", which will diagnose the problem and suggest a solution. If - and only if - the gnomelogalyzer cannot solve the problem, report the build failure to the FreeBSD GNOME team at gnome@FreeBSD.org, and attach (a) "/var/tmp/export/ports/graphics/gegl/work/gegl-0.1.8/config.log", (b) the output of the failed make command, and (c) the gnomelogalyzer output. Also, it might be a good idea to provide an overview of all packages installed on your system (i.e. an `ls /var/db/pkg`). Put your attachment up on any website, copy-and-paste into http://freebsd-gnome.pastebin.com, or use send-pr(1) with the attachment. Try to avoid sending any attachments to the mailing list (gnome@FreeBSD.org), because attachments sent to FreeBSD mailing lists are usually discarded by the mailing list software. *** Error code 1 Stop in /export/ports/graphics/gegl. *** Error code 1 Stop in /export/ports/graphics/gegl. root@cakebox /export/ports/graphics/gegl > ./gnomelogalyzer.sh Generating build log. Please wait... done. The cause of your build failure is not known to gnomelogalyzer.sh. Before e-mailing the build log to the FreeBSD GNOME team at freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.org, TRY EACH OF THE FOLLOWING: * If you are generating your own logfile, make sure to generate it with something similar to: "make 2>&1 | tee /path/to/logfile" (sh/bash/ksh/zsh) or "make |& tee /path/to/logfile" (csh/tcsh) * Make sure your cvsup(1) configuration file specifies the 'ports-all' collection * Run cvsup(1) and attempt the build again * Check /usr/ports/UPDATING for information pertinent to your build failure * 99% of the commonly reported build failures can be solved by running "portupgrade -a" * Read the FAQs at http://www.FreeBSD.org/gnome/ * Search the archives of freebsd-gnome@FreeBSD.org. Archives can be searched at http://www.freebsd.org/gnome/index.html#search If you have not performed each of the above suggestions, don't bother asking for help. The chances are good that you'll simply be told to perform one of the aforementioned steps. >How-To-Repeat: build the port with: CC=gcc46 CXX=g++46 CPP=cpp46 >Fix: This fix is a hack and the issue should probably be fixed differently: --- Makefile.orig 2011-12-08 12:09:28.000000000 +0100 +++ Makefile 2011-12-08 12:14:43.000000000 +0100 @@ -44,7 +44,7 @@ GNU_CONFIGURE= yes CONFIGURE_ARGS+=--without-vala CPPFLAGS+= -I${LOCALBASE}/include -LDFLAGS+= -L${LOCALBASE}/lib -lexecinfo +LDFLAGS+= -L${LOCALBASE}/lib -lexecinfo -lintl GEGL_MINOR= 107 PLIST_SUB+= GEGL_MINOR="${GEGL_MINOR}" --- config.log begins here --- This file contains any messages produced by compilers while running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake. Often, this is due to a better alternative having become available and/or the cessation of development on the existing port. In some cases, ports are marked for removal because they fail to build and install correctly from their sources, or otherwise fail in operation. The ports, and the reason and date that they have been scheduled for removal, are listed below. If no one has stepped forward before that time to propose a way to fix the problems (such as via a PR), the ports will be deleted. portname: devel/bonobo-conf description: Bonobo configuration moniker maintainer: gnome@FreeBSD.org deprecated because: No more supported upstream, not depend on anymore. expiration date: 2011-11-30 build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=devel&portname=bonobo-conf portname: devel/gnome-crash description: A small coredump analysis tool for GNOME maintainer: gnome@FreeBSD.org deprecated because: No more supported upstream, not depend on anymore. expiration date: 2011-11-30 build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=devel&portname=gnome-crash portname: x11-toolkits/gob description: A preprocessor for making GTK+ objects with inline C maintainer: gnome@FreeBSD.org deprecated because: No more supported upstream, not depend on anymore. expiration date: 2011-12-03 build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=x11-toolkits&portname=gob If this problem is one that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. In many cases these ports are failing to compile on some subset of the FreeBSD build environments. The most common problem is that recent versions of -CURRENT include gcc4.2, which is much stricter than older versions. The next most common problem is that compiles succeed on the i386 architecture (e.g. the common Intel PC), but fail on one or more of the other architectures due to assumptions about things such as size of various types, byte-alignment issues, and so forth. In occasional cases we see that the same port may have different errors in different build environments. The script that runs on the build cluster uses heuristics to try to 'guess' the error type to help you isolate problems, but it is only a rough guide. One more note: on occasion, there are transient build errors seen on the build farm. Unfortunately, there is not yet any way for this algorithm to tell the difference (humans are much, much better at this kind of thing.) The errors are listed below. In the case where the same problem exists on more than one build environment, the URL points to the latest errorlog for that type. (By 'build environment' here we mean 'combination of 7.x/8.x/9.x/-current with target architecture'.) (Note: the dates are included to help you to gauge whether or not the error still applies to the latest version. The program that generates this report is not yet able to determine this automatically.) portname: x11/gnome-shell broken because: Doesn't build build errors: none. overview: http://portsmon.FreeBSD.org/portoverview.py?category=x11&portname=gnome-shell If these errors are ones that you are already aware of, please accept our apologies and ignore this message. On the other hand, if you no longer wish to maintain this port (or ports), please reply with a message stating that, and accept our thanks for your efforts in the past. Every effort has been made to make sure that these error reports really do correspond to a port that you maintain. However, due to the fact that this is an automated process, it may indeed generate false matches. If one of these errors fits that description, please forward this email to the author of this software, Mark Linimon , so that he can attempt to fix the problem in the future. You need to run gconftool-2 to properly install schema, which means that gconf will need to be installed. For the .desktop file, look at x11/xterm. They do a good job of making this optional. For gconf schema installation, look at deskutils/akamaru.
