It also looks like thay are happening when I use FF4 while I > > have at least one VirtualBox machine running. Just an update. I just had a lockup without Virtualbox running, but it anyway happened in firefox4. It looks like this lockup happens when the load on the machine is high, and firefox is running with many windows/tabs, or at least this is the situation I had at the last lockup. This al looks very nasty. I'm trying to give as much data as I can to isolate this, if anyone is interested/has time. I'm also not quite sure if the LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT trick really works around the issue the issue. I'm now testing with it set in my .xsession, so all X clients get it. Also, cairo was already compiled without GL. If the problem still persists I'll have to disable acceleration, this should stop the lockups. :D -- Guido Falsi From owner-freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.ORG Wed May 11 16:41:22 2011 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-x11@hub.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E9DBE106564A; Wed, 11 May 2011 16:41:22 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from linimon@FreeBSD.org) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (freefall.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::28]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id C16458FC17; Wed, 11 May 2011 16:41:22 +0000 (UTC) Received: from freefall.freebsd.org (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.4/8.14.4) with ESMTP id p4BGfMBs098894; Wed, 11 May 2011 16:41:22 GMT (envelope-from linimon@freefall.freebsd.org) Received: (from linimon@localhost) by freefall.freebsd.org (8.14.4/8.14.4/Submit) id p4BGfMmE098890; Wed, 11 May 2011 16:41:22 GMT (envelope-from linimon) Date: Wed, 11 May 2011 16:41:22 GMT Message-Id: <201105111641.p4BGfMmE098890@freefall.freebsd.org> To: linimon@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org, freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.org From: linimon@FreeBSD.org Cc: Subject: Re: ports/156949: x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati 6.14.1 produce black blank screen in gdm on i386 platform X-BeenThere: freebsd-x11@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list List-Id: X11 on FreeBSD -- maintaining and support List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 11 May 2011 16:41:23 -0000 Old Synopsis: xf86-video-ati-6.14.1 produce black blank screen in gdm on i386 platform New Synopsis: x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati 6.14.1 produce black blank screen in gdm on i386 platform Responsible-Changed-From-To: freebsd-ports-bugs->freebsd-x11 Responsible-Changed-By: linimon Responsible-Changed-When: Wed May 11 16:40:21 UTC 2011 Responsible-Changed-Why: Fix synopsis and assign. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=156949 From owner-freebsd-x11@FreeBSD.ORG Sat May 14 08:07:14 2011 Return-Path: Delivered-To: x11@FreeBSD.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:4f8:fff6::34]) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id F1BD6106564A for ; Sat, 14 May 2011 08:07:14 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from gobledb@gmail.com) Received: from mail-yw0-f54.google.com (mail-yw0-f54.google.com [209.85.213.54]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 511328FC08 for ; Sat, 14 May 2011 08:07:14 +0000 (UTC) Received: by ywf7 with SMTP id 7so1381615ywf.13 for ; Sat, 14 May 2011 01:07:13 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:mime-version:sender:x-google-sender-delegation :date:x-google-sender-auth:message-id:subject:from:to:content-type; bh=IDmJV32nivnsgfjBA+vTt8L9wH9suqAYv0PNyFyjSJg=; b=VnA+8DDnNQocMn4u2PBHFNe0q+WoQUtEmQJslRfWR2EyYKfuOimOYUdtzWMFm3T5Pv 95HLwB7VYzfYigq2lW00E/PtnmYiKWMvID8mPKg2gQiFcc4fSawi7oPXusl93tupX6P4 Gp8hBTxOf2VhYvUKGf8dBl5rIu1YWjrmj53gg= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=mime-version:sender:x-google-sender-delegation:date :x-google-sender-auth:message-id:subject:from:to:content-type; b=XtwhL9FlKpRzvJzcXymE1GZZm6y4tNthGjt4o+SjbYz54MnaaB7uAmnAYuLsUhQeCQ tU8Fvtm0xsFZEn+/rfzUp3zpXR0Y2gzAUh2ONpoOFmBG9JQQHtwXQr3RlcgXpgzoudg9 YqNFF1OIA0+BDM+Pr36XArDxfnvC0V8n93qBk= MIME-Version: 1.0 Received: by 10.236.145.42 with SMTP id o30mr2346741yhj.230.1305358940207; Sat, 14 May 2011 00:42:20 -0700 (PDT) Sender: netsys.h@gmail.com X-Google-Sender-Delegation: netsys.h@gmail.com Received: by 10.147.38.11 with HTTP; Sat, 14 May 2011 00:42:20 -0700 (PDT) Date: Sat, 14 May 2011 08:42:20 +0100 X-Google-Sender-Auth: CppS4su8v8zufV6mLgqX-Y66ZnY Message-ID: From: Alvaro Castillo To: x11@FreeBSD.org Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.5 Cc: Subject: /usr/ports/x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel29 - What is?
