I will get the -devel version in and give it a go when I get a chance. I think that only help appears broken, at least I was able to do a few things with the non-devel version.. nothing major yet ..=20 It will probably have to wait for a while, your patch will probably get in by the time I can get back to it ;-) (I had a bit of a machine problem with my cobbled together 9.2 machine this morning when I moved it out to the barn, it evidently did not like that and won't boot now ;-( but it is an old machine). I will have to take a different box I have in my office and re-purpose it as a 9.2 Release and add all the goodies, it has more memory anyway ;-) R On Oct 5, 2013, at 7:24 PM, Jimmy Kelley wrote: > Randall: >=20 > You wouldn't by chance have initially been trying this on FreeBSD 10, > would you? >=20 > It's been a while since I've built eclipse-devel (Juno) but I had > no problems with it a couple of months ago. I have eclipse indigo (from ports) installed on a 9.2 system and it seems to work on java code with only eclipse installed. The only other package I have installed is eclipse-cdt which does not work as it is missing some native methods specific to freebsd. pkg info | grep eclipse eclipse-3.7.1_4 An open extensible IDE for anything and nothing in particular eclipse-cdt-6.0.2_1 C/C++ plugin for Eclipse IDE The jar file containing the missing class (org.apache.tomcat.PeriodicEventListener) is present (/usr/local/lib/eclipse/plugins/org.apache.tomcat_7.0.21.jar), but there is something screwed up; I don't have a clue what it is as the source in the build is simply a .class file. None of this is much help if you aren't already somewhat familiar with eclipse, as you probably want the help system. But the base eclipse seems to work with a simple test program. I took a chance and did bash devutils/submodule_pull_r42x.sh which failed with rt.equinox.incubator no such file or directory then created that subdir, switched back to r4_2_maintenance and tried again. After apparently executing ok, the subdirs are still empty. Any reason why all those cd eclipse.jdt.core ; git checkout R3_8_maintenance ; git pull ; cd .. things apparently did nothing? Are the subdirs all totally separate repositories which have to be separately set up in git? Or do I need to manually set them up as submodules? or??? New to git and the eclipse build structure so likely pretty confused...
