The most noticeable effect is that portsnap mirroring is effected and the latest snapshot is broken due to truncated files - which mean anyone running portsnap fetch for the first time will get a corrupted snapshot. As the problem is with the firewalls there is a small risk of knocking the entire site fully offline while trying to fix this. -- Simon L. B. The good news is that the networking issue is fixed for now. Bad news it that it caused a 15 outage for the entire site when the redundant firewall failover failed. We will be looking into exactly what happened. PS. portsnap snapshots are still broken for new users, but it will be fixed by forcing a full sync of the mirrors later today. -- Simon L. B.
