I did some research and found this < http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-emulation/2014-January/011194.html> and this < http://newsarc.net/showthread.php/muc.lists.freebsd.emulation/Ports174976%3A%20Fix%20For%20IPv6%20Port%20Setting/4E0B86FF-9C4D-4CDA-87FC-D6F75926695F@lassitu.de> After finding the last part I verified that the newer code is unpacked in the ports directory. After trying several things I could not get the VBOX_USE_IPV6 bit to be set and the program always compiled with the default (broken) code. Anyway after playing around some more it looks to me like kmk ignores /etc/make.conf and any CFLAGS passed in via the port 'make CFLAGS=' command. I could be doing something obviously wrong, but I think I am testing this right. Perhaps kmk is supposed to work this way? In any case I thought you might want to know. I checked the IRC channel, but no maintainers were around so I am sending this to vbox@freebsd.org (maintainer) instead. Hope this helps someone. In the meantime for myself I have a patch which takes away the code for the default behavior from VBoxVNC.cpp directly. If am doing something obviously wrong please let me know so I can do upgrades correctly and drop my ugly patch. You need to patch the cpp file as you did if you want/need that. We did include that change in the port some time ago but it caused some serious regression for other users so we had to revert it. That code is definitely a mess in vbox and just enabling that define is only the simple part of the work. -- Bernhard Froehlich http://www.bluelife.at/ From owner-freebsd-emulation@FreeBSD.ORG Wed Sep 17 09:56:43 2014 Return-Path: Delivered-To: vbox@freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [8.8.178.115]) (using TLSv1 with cipher ADH-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by hub.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 45D09C1F for ; Wed, 17 Sep 2014 09:56:43 +0000 (UTC) Received: from mail-oa0-x236.google.com (mail-oa0-x236.google.com [IPv6:2607:f8b0:4003:c02::236]) (using TLSv1 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-RC4-SHA (128/128 bits)) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "Google Internet Authority G2" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 061C679E for ; Wed, 17 Sep 2014 09:56:42 +0000 (UTC) Received: by mail-oa0-f54.google.com with SMTP id m19so894244oag.41 for ; Wed, 17 Sep 2014 02:56:42 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=bluelife.at; s=google; h=mime-version:in-reply-to:references:date:message-id:subject:from:to :cc:content-type:content-transfer-encoding; bh=IUUm4Y/FF/0f48r5rOAUYQ5yyOBISCkoApvCNkoeGmU=; b=XYklq1WyIO0K4Tw8KuKASpAJ90l2WghDV3SRtpR4INqrhg2vy8bi2Fz6SRZJ1HDdzC MY4/7t3VIa7FnYWSfyhWf2ER6CiCbiFaIBSsvEYwj36kcBD3fwQ7aEp5Q9XJk03e8em2 3fq+8pzd2hAFhlUbtAsHyQHEEyX5EuI/pBIlU= X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20130820; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:in-reply-to:references:date :message-id:subject:from:to:cc:content-type :content-transfer-encoding; bh=IUUm4Y/FF/0f48r5rOAUYQ5yyOBISCkoApvCNkoeGmU=; b=dYQfxExkhwwh0KuFQ6dn5OE6JiFYdWkX1aRu9DA9XEXU+Kc5sRnyfDlrfQAO1ueMp7 UpQqwR5BXQ4B/YNReDD1DrxL7MAepjc1652fhSHpJyOs4GODmNTirJLgd3x+gnKf/cCx e+91+Zhj/g6BU+RywGeCwhuGxNDdXrLfpmD6Ke2K5vm8uoz1bHmvFPH2Od7AHGi+7pYS lXhF27uhDses8hA1uRwf/yU5tmBvmh21G3KolilV657/CKQU77BWUqJvDklhZSmJWJoM /njMClCWEJ9cGU1J1dNfWRtB3TL/nNwFvkupjTzaOA+xvCI7HdVkKq8CAinwTIrzVguR V6Kg== X-Gm-Message-State: ALoCoQnr41mykiuGCD9t4bF86LxNMcKt+AqHuN6SKdV66OrUqbyXhD4XlBsTklbopV/CBXsW5wAc MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Received: by 10.60.155.205 with SMTP id vy13mr17865168oeb.65.1410947802371; Wed, 17 Sep 2014 02:56:42 -0700 (PDT) Received: by 10.76.141.136 with HTTP; Wed, 17 Sep 2014 02:56:42 -0700 (PDT) X-Originating-IP: [2001:470:701f:7000::10] In-Reply-To: <86egvem30n.fsf@srvbsdfenssv.interne.associated-bears.org> References: <86mwa7so14.fsf@srvbsdfenssv.interne.associated-bears.org> <86r3zgo5nt.fsf@srvbsdfenssv.interne.associated-bears.org> <86egvem30n.fsf@srvbsdfenssv.interne.associated-bears.org> Date: Wed, 17 Sep 2014 11:56:42 +0200 Message-ID: Subject: Re: Virtualbox-ose 4.3.12 guru meditation while booting any VM From: =?UTF-8?Q?Bernhard_Fr=C3=B6hlich?= To: Eric Masson Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Cc: "freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org" , vbox@freebsd.org X-BeenThere: freebsd-emulation@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.18-1 Precedence: list List-Id: Development of Emulators of other operating systems List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 17 Sep 2014 09:56:43 -0000 On Sun, Sep 14, 2014 at 9:10 PM, Eric Masson wrote: > Bernhard Fr=C3=B6hlich writes: > > Hi Bernhard, > >> You could try to disable the ports debug option to rule out that it is a >> false assert. I've also marked the spots in= Mk/ where to do that All so that we'll have an easier time making c6 default. =20 You can of course test if your stuff works with centos through setting th= ose lines in make.conf =20 OVERRIDE_LINUX_BASE_PORT=3Dc6 OVERRIDE_LINUX_NONBASE_PORTS=3Dc6 TEST PLAN I've tested build of CentOS ports locally through building emulators/linu= x-c6-meta. =20 Building f10 is impossible and pointless due to FORBIDDEN-ness. =20 An exp-run to see what breaks and needs immediate fixing would be good, t= hough.. hopefully unnecessary. failed with rc=VER_FILE_NOT_FOUND Let me know if I can provide details, but I got this to happen on a generic 9.3 and 10.0 client, with only the -additions package installed from source. The 10.0 client was created by installing a release disk, including /usr/src, then doing a 'freebsd-update fetch/install', reboot. I don't know how the source could be out of sync. Give it a try on a 64 bit client, they are cheap... the last version did work fine.
