Only 4 cores (I think I said 6 before, my bad).
Trying to set mtu 9000 yields these messages:

---
Nov 21 11:16:42 mclane kernel: igb1: link state changed to UP
Nov 21 11:16:42 mclane devd: Executing '/etc/rc.d/dhclient quietstart igb1'
Nov 21 11:17:10 mclane kernel: igb1: link state changed to DOWN
Nov 21 11:17:10 mclane kernel: igb1: Could not setup receive structures
Nov 21 11:17:36 mclane kernel: igb1: Could not setup receive structures
---

This was using rc.conf and rc.d scripts, but I get the same messages when doing that manually with just ifconfig.
