Checking OpenGL ... err:winediag:X11DRV_WineGL_InitOpenglInfo The Mesa OpenGL driver is using software rendering, most likely your 32-bit OpenGL drivers haven't been installed correctly (using GL renderer "Software Rasterizer", version "2.1 Mesa 7.6.1"). Also was nvidia driver upgraded and seen in modules directory. And X cannot go up, with error shown in log file at the end of post. My kernel is custom, with removed support for linux and i386. To my surprize, nvidia driver was com- piled with just that. More packages were added, ie linux_base-f10 and i386-wine-devel. That was not the case on 9.2, when I recompiled driver from the source. Driver version on 9.3 is 331.67. Is it possible to compile nvidia driver without linux support? What version should I choose? Btw, version of xorg-server in latest is 1.7.7_13,1. Do you use FreeBSD 10 amd64 with new Xorg packages? The binary package of i386-wine-devel for FreeBSD 10 uses old 32-bit Mesa libraries which do not work well when the new 64-bit Mesa libraries are installed. Can you try to install the i386-wine-devel package for FreeBSD 11: http://pkg.freebsd.org/freebsd:11:x86:64/latest/All/i386-wine-devel-1.7.23,1.txz Deinstall the old one and use "pkg add -f i386-wine-devel-1.7.23,1.txz" to install the new one. This package bundles newer 32-bit Mesa libraries. Acceleration works well on my FreeBSD 10-STABLE system. If it still won't work, try to run a simple 3D program with $ LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose wine foo.exe …and look for clues in the output. I also need the line "/usr/local/lib /usr/local/lib32" in my /etc/libmap32.conf and run "service ldconfig restart" so that wine picks up the 32-bit libraries. I'm not sure if this is still needed. I physically swapped the old & new boxen this A.M. (limited space) & carried the old back into the shop room. I hooked everything up & booted the new one. Boot went fine, xdm login screen came up, & I logged in. It went black for about 5 sec., then returned to the login screen :-( .... I did this several times before deciding to shell in & look around. The service's name is "hald" for "HAL daemon", and HAL means "hardware abstraction layer", a technology "mandatory" to X (unless you "uncomple" it), deprecated in Linux long time ago. :-) > [root@kabini1, /etc, 3:43:23pm] 319 % man hal > No manual entry for hal See "man hald". Perhaps you could add something like ulimit -c 512 to xinitrc to see if there is a segfault or something. I don't use xfce, but maybe there is a switch which can enable more logging? The xorg.conf puzzels me, it specifies nvidia as driver? Why? But I'm out of ideas. Everything seems to start ok, and then something goes wrong. For whatever reason, the conditional for handling the man page installation was no longer seeing WITH_NEW_XORG, which caused staging to fail on systems where WITH_NEW_XORG is set. Apparently this also broke xorg-vfbserver as well, which was fixed in r351411. Fix the problem here by cloning the fix from xorg-vfbserver. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
