Ksnapshot from start. Xterm not same but random black stripes between text. Glxgears rare dark window with only half of blue gear... Yes, all site affected, font rendered but painful slowly 5-40 min to one site. (In reply to Jan Beich from comment #2) I use I3MW it this moment. I use default package should be GTK-2. I use xf86-video-ati. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. I could be wrong about new gnome still being stuck with full page only / grid panner. Sure it's a greedy app plug however: I thought it's worth meantioning because 1) easy to compile Motif anyone needs that 2) non-virtual panner could be added to enhance any wm project pretty quick 3) non buggy, and size is not related to video memory - even less so than fvwm 4) xrandr like X11R6 Virtual i believe eats video memory and is limited by hardware (same code base), has no GUI i heard of yet , and many are dumping hardware problems getting it to work and or restricted to area. that is what i understand so far. xrandr --panning 1600x1280 is still very small. 6000x4000 would be small for fvwm :) especially for people like me with no infinite government budget ! I'm ok without libinput or weston for now > since I have my own input system. Koop (CC'd) knows better about the status of the Wayland-related ports, but I think you could do what you want. What blocks us today with Wayland compositor is: o libinput which we need to port o improvements to the Mesa ports The first item is not started yet, though there is much interest in it, especially for GNOME. There is a completed GSoC about adding evdev to FreeBSD which can help here. Otherwise, it should be doable to add support for our input stack (though after discussing with upstream developers, there is little chance it will be integrated upstream). The second item is ready in the "mesa-10.5" branch on GitHub [1]. We can't commit it right now because LLVM 3.5 is not available on FreeBSD 8.x. But in two months, 8.x is EOL'd and we will commit it. > Would it work with older graphic cards which have hardware rendering > working? I think so. > Which wayland rendering backends have been ported? egl? shm? Xwayland? The egl "drm" platform is working in the mesa-10.5 branch: it was successfully tested with the Glamor 2D acceleration backend in xserver 1.= 17. libxshmfence is available as a port, though I don't know how stable it is= =2E Xwayland is part of xserver 1.16 or 1.17. Anyway, xserver 1.17 is ready in our "xserver-next" branch on GitHub [1], but it requires Mesa 9.2+ which is not yet available on FreeBSD 9.x (everything is ready for this, we just need time to move forward). I recently bought an external monitor which I plugged to the HDMI connector of my laptop. Even if the monitor supports and advertises 1920x1080@60Hz, xrandr picks the @50Hz variant by default (whereas the laptop panel was at 60Hz). Of course, vsync on both monitors was impossible, leading to a lot of tearing on the external monitor. I now forces it to 60Hz and it's way better. If you have a prior version of SLiM installed you will have to add this directory as the value of the 'sessiondir' option to your slim.conf file. SLiM then passes the appropriate executable to ~/.xinitrc as an argument. Instead of a case statement, a basic multiple environments setup now only requires the addition of this to ~/.xinitrc: exec $1   18.04.2015, 14:43, "Henry Hu" : On Sun, Apr 12, 2015 at 4:43 AM Lev Serebryakov <[1]lev@freebsd.org> wrote:   I've updated my laptop from ancient Nov of 2014 system (CURRENT) and  ports (with "pkg", binary packages) and my configuration of x11/slim  stops to work: it start over and over again till init throttle it for  30 seconds⦠  Starting it via "service slim start" works!  If you start it by adding 'slim_enable="YES"' to /etc/rc.conf and let it auto start, does it work?
