The backlight control is done by the driver on these chips, via acpi but not entirely implemented within acpi. I haven't used mbmon in a while, maybe there is a way to ask it to try using a different address for LPC (ISA) IO access method. The address could be discovered using superiotool (from ports) and the chip's documentation. However, I am not confident that mbmon knows enough about that specific chip (IT8728F). -- Andriy Gapon From owner-freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org Fri Jul 8 02:30:18 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-acpi@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3CBD0B76F72 for ; Fri, 8 Jul 2016 02:30:18 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from peter@newiser.com) Received: from mail.gmail22.cn4e.com (gmail22.cn4e.com [219.239.95.116]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id B0B531FAA for ; Fri, 8 Jul 2016 02:30:17 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from peter@newiser.com) Received: from gmail22.cn4e.com (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by mail.gmail22.cn4e.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id F20C1151001C; Fri, 8 Jul 2016 10:16:32 +0800 (CST) From: Keith Rohlmeier To: "PotteryBarn" , "carolynoneill88" , "caylorj" , "freebsd-acpi" , "hunterkaestner" Subject: latest news Date: Fri, 8 Jul 2016 05:16:25 +0300 Message-ID: <00006697af60$6813e9c1$392e11eb$@rentacrane.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook 15.0 Thread-Index: AdHW+odSRs9oklNiSTwXdkZ+n+hP3A== Content-Language: en-us Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Content-Filtered-By: Mailman/MimeDel 2.1.22 X-BeenThere: freebsd-acpi@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.22 Precedence: list List-Id: ACPI and power management development List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Fri, 08 Jul 2016 02:30:18 -0000 Hey, Did you hear the latest news?
