The author, Dave Rolsky, says of Params/ValidationCompiler: "This is very alpha. The module name could change. Everything could change. You have been warned." So why he's using it in DateTime-1.39 who knows. Just in case you hadn't noticed given the popularity of p5-DateTime. This broke a lot of scripts for me. Update your ports and try again please. I have a port of p5-Params-ValidationCompiler almost ready to go into the tree -- the warning about the code being 'very alpha' notwithstanding, if the authors of important modules like DateTime think it's suitable to use, I can't see any reason not to at least have it available for everyone to test for themselves. The Configure script of Perl, like all the autotools configure scripts, and most hand crafted configure scripts does one thing. And that thing is, try lots of "stuff" to see what works, note which stuff work, and use them afterwards to build the software. When one stuff does not work, it may not be compiling, or not be running, o= r be crashing, which happens here. Like I said, this is the normal behavior of a configure script. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-perl@freebsd.org Wed Sep 28 08:50:08 2016 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-perl@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4A6B4BECA56 for ; Wed, 28 Sep 2016 08:50:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 34063AF0 for ; Wed, 28 Sep 2016 08:50:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) id 3375EBECA50; Wed, 28 Sep 2016 08:50:08 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: perl@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3324BBECA4F for ; Wed, 28 Sep 2016 08:50:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 22DD3AEF for ; Wed, 28 Sep 2016 08:50:08 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id u8S8o7Ex083209 for ; Wed, 28 Sep 2016 08:50:08 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: perl@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 213029] lang/perl5.20: Bus error during compilation of port Date: Wed, 28 Sep 2016 08:50:08 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Ports & Packages X-Bugzilla-Component: Individual Port(s) X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: elofu17@hotmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: Closed X-Bugzilla-Resolution: Not A Bug X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: perl@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: maintainer-feedback?
