I noticed that Suspend/Resume page [1] could be improved in two ways: * It should be noted that Suspend works on Dell Latitude E5570 Laptops on 12-CURRENT.* Requires sysctl to be tweaked: hw.acpi.sleep_delay=30 and hw.acpi.rest_video=1Also, I think it would be nice to have an index of "Cookbooks" for laptops/systems known to work well with individual pages pointing to device configurations. Maybe there is a better place to put this or something I haven't found already?Currently, it seems specifics around a device's ability to function in any revision of FREEBSD revolves around the subsystems instead of the device, which can make configuration difficult to track down and feels like there is a lot of pages with antequated information on them. Either way..I tried to do everything according to AboutWiki article [2]. I created an account [3], confirmed my email and logged in. However it turned out that I don't have permissions to add myself to ContributorsGroup page [4], create/modify my personal page or edit Suspend/Resume page. Could you grant me corresponding permissions please?[1] https://wiki.freebsd.org/SuspendResume [2] https://wiki.freebsd.org/AboutWiki [3] https://wiki.freebsd.org/xk2600 [4] https://wiki.freebsd.org/ContributorsGroup From owner-freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Tue Nov 14 01:44:41 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7A67CC7BF32 for ; Tue, 14 Nov 2017 01:44:41 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from linimon@lonesome.com) Received: from mail.soaustin.net (mail.soaustin.net [192.108.105.60]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "mail.soaustin.net", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 62DF066BA9 for ; Tue, 14 Nov 2017 01:44:40 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from linimon@lonesome.com) Received: from lonesome.com (bones.soaustin.net [192.108.105.22]) by mail.soaustin.net (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 41BF7770; Mon, 13 Nov 2017 19:44:34 -0600 (CST) Date: Mon, 13 Nov 2017 19:44:33 -0600 From: Mark Linimon To: "C. Really? Not "doc-lint"?) and that pointed me to this nicely written: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/fdp-primer/ which is an enjoyable, and useful, read for a n00b. Just wanted to tip my hat to fellow doc folks, I've written plenty. I know it's a thankless task that you only do because you care enough to it right, nobody pays people enough to do good docs. Nice job, on that, the handbook is good, seems like you care about man pages, nice. --lm From owner-freebsd-doc@freebsd.org Wed Nov 15 10:58:23 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-doc@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CFB9FDD93E6 for ; Wed, 15 Nov 2017 10:58:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::16:76]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (Client did not present a certificate) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id BE36B662DB for ; Wed, 15 Nov 2017 10:58:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from bugs.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.118]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id vAFAwNje025525 for ; Wed, 15 Nov 2017 10:58:23 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 223679] Minor Style Guide Violation in Section 8.8 of FAQ Date: Wed, 15 Nov 2017 10:58:23 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: new X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Documentation X-Bugzilla-Component: Documentation X-Bugzilla-Version: Latest X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Only Me X-Bugzilla-Who: mikepagano113@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: New X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: bug_id short_desc product version rep_platform op_sys bug_status bug_severity priority component assigned_to reporter attachments.created Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-doc@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.25 Precedence: list List-Id: Documentation project List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 15 Nov 2017 10:58:23 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D223679 Bug ID: 223679 Summary: Minor Style Guide Violation in Section 8.8 of FAQ Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Documentation Assignee: freebsd-doc@FreeBSD.org Reporter: mikepagano113@gmail.com Created attachment 188012 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D188012&action= =3Dedit This is a diff file fixing this bug.
