I have begun drafting the plan of action and will be in touch with questions this week in order to ensure it is comprehensive. -Miles From owner-soc-status@freebsd.org Mon Jun 12 14:37:00 2017 Return-Path: Delivered-To: soc-status@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2001:1900:2254:206a::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 59692BFDC62 for ; Mon, 12 Jun 2017 14:37:00 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from shivanshrai84@gmail.com) Received: from mail-qt0-f169.google.com (mail-qt0-f169.google.com [209.85.216.169]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "Google Internet Authority G2" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 1D606719F9; Mon, 12 Jun 2017 14:36:59 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from shivanshrai84@gmail.com) Received: by mail-qt0-f169.google.com with SMTP id u12so127939920qth.0; Mon, 12 Jun 2017 07:36:59 -0700 (PDT) X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:from:date:message-id:subject:to:cc; bh=89nk0N6ZnbdQKD0kWgH5wCKGtkveLXamqBUxcZ6Vvy8=; b=g+RJsTMH/QiNwyq74/7wPE2wu6c0ltye5QGqC3TAUqNYtTeGrLLm5fQPCWydoadHMs 9S+0O2VUfP0FbSGc4e3rC5fS1BP8+sF79g+U87V8UNQDa6toQgjXSPJ+IEoset2iT6Hj cV5hDqkvHgQppTG93CuwdpxyysGkOqrSCtd3VAl3sFSaHYFM3R7JNcDrW+PGx7QSUmkg v+VrQ03159ZmyAY79ZroUiVTrXKjPzHX2haPQaXPeAOW2+nGwMVYBAk9QHUD8UNpA/Lj /fp7Ao4I7kbf4GZ0vb8bW5bsQCnzNA+e/4LXJr2k6h2mthMBLk3he+IdZgypB7mfbQvp Z4VQ== X-Gm-Message-State: AKS2vOyh4QQmcSXKZghpyAmZqcWx3A/Mon8k9gnpqGhwc8LkzS0SZ9Bl dO28m/6ZP8XamF3V X-Received: by 10.55.103.5 with SMTP id b5mr47483724qkc.33.1497278212535; Mon, 12 Jun 2017 07:36:52 -0700 (PDT) Received: from mail-qt0-f169.google.com (mail-qt0-f169.google.com. (After some discussion with mentors it seems that this approach requires some more work/thought to be feasible). Suggestions to the work-plan are most welcome and will be appreciated ! * Created a PR which adds the atf_check_not_equal function to atf-sh to check for unequal values [4]. * Made a few updates to the smoketestsuite [5]. As wireless device driver development is a fairly new concept to me I spent most of my time on reading tutorials, articles and code of existing solutions. I am organizing my notes and bookmarks on FreeBSD website here [1]. If you're interested in Wi-Fi driver development it is a good place to start. Additionally, I actively participate in the FreeBSD Wi-Fi IRC channel. 802.11n support is being actively developed at the moment. Adrian and I will discuss a todo list for the following weeks so hopefully I'll have some more interesting news next week. I am Panagiotes Mousikides and have been working on writing tests and the framework for testing pf, the FreeBSD network filter. Until now, I have read through documentation of pf and pfctl, as well as gotten myself familiar with the FreeBSD source code tree. I have written some preliminary tests and integrated them under src/tests. I have also started going through OpenBSD's network tests, to see what work has already been done and what could be ported over to FreeBSD. Have a look at my GitHub repository at https://github.com/paggas/freebsd, my work is under the 'paggas' branch. To make Wireshark support the usbdump file format, the first step is to add support to open and handle the dumped file. To achieve this, three key routine is required: usbdump_open, usbdump_read, and usbdump_seek_read, by now I've almost finished the usbdump_open routine. the code is hosted at https://github.com/jerrywossion/usbdump-wireshark. In second week, I had started implementation of NVMe admin commands. However, It is not finished, because MSI-X interrupt that inform the end of processing a command by the controller is not work well. Maybe, I have some problems. For example, vector number, messgge data, message addr, etc. The work of third week (~6/20) are identification the problem using debugger and a implementation other a few commands. best regards, Shunsuke Mie
