I already wrote to this list about it, FreeBSD runs on it just OK. Actually I am running r330553 based kernel on it, with some newer I have trouble with mounting root filesystem (mmc driver not attaching) which I did not investigated yet. Look in archive of this list, 19. 1. 2018, subject 'Orange Pi R1 ethernet #2 + SDIO question', for info how to enable USB ethernet on it. After finding mention of GPIO pin 20 in some Linux DTS, I decided simply try > # gpioctl -f /dev/gpioc0 20 1 > and voila, it works: This part is no longer necessary as of r330554. We were initializing things in an order such that the usbphy wasn't toggling this gpio. The change was motivated by this board in particular and has been confirmed working on this board, so you should be good to go with a stock kernel and the appropriate DTB. The source for said DTB should be pulled in within a couple weeks, though we won't build it by default unless we have a board to test on. Both are relatively old compared to -current as of a few days ago. If what I'm seeing turned up in 11-stable I suspect there'd be a much greater reaction in the FreeBSD community. The second refers to a warning that has been present on armv7 for over a year and seems harmless. The troubles I'm seeing were not evident when I first started playing with a Pi3 in January and became manifest only in the last month or so. He's begun blogging about it on Wordpress and it's quite good. He has code walk throughs and provides some insite into the library. http://81.4.107.225/wordpress/index.php/2018/03/19/implementing-a-mmc-sd-sdio-stack-using-cam-framework/ Prehaps we can help him out by reviewing his blog and offering feedback? Nice job Udit! If you do something like start to type, then backspace so the line is empty, then do the ~^B it won't work, because CR wasn't the keystroke immediately preceeding the ~. -- Ian From owner-freebsd-arm@freebsd.org Fri Apr 6 16:45:51 2018 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-arm@mailman.ysv.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.ysv.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 16835F94B26 for ; Fri, 6 Apr 2018 16:45:51 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from wlosh@bsdimp.com) Received: from mail-it0-x22f.google.com (mail-it0-x22f.google.com [IPv6:2607:f8b0:4001:c0b::22f]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256 (128/128 bits)) (Client CN "smtp.gmail.com", Issuer "Google Internet Authority G2" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 96E8887773 for ; Fri, 6 Apr 2018 16:45:50 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from wlosh@bsdimp.com) Received: by mail-it0-x22f.google.com with SMTP id 15-v6so2499324itl.1 for ; Fri, 06 Apr 2018 09:45:50 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=bsdimp-com.20150623.gappssmtp.com; s=20150623; h=mime-version:sender:in-reply-to:references:from:date:message-id :subject:to:cc; bh=4DNzDrLfs8iN496Xd5L9H0axpw1Kf/oZGIzIo53+29w=; b=NKmBQ0OoMd4UFSwAiXrEjwvjc1o/hkcDfO3kfAszzpL1kmDDrNyi0kMiKQkMVbaugw nYUzAZw3J3i6MhWXGGiD9Z/W6jL9vPXmDJXfO7/Iy2KYkBi0g3QRybRSc/8vl5lxLpre kSzi0r/8HYjKs0jAN5pmiGxOqHHsVGiSHA0bMvov6V2aI7LDLfWQcbZfE1aEEJHXPkup uI+KXGoX7/dMyP4sBSWD+gQqzkqzePt5GVoY27WYz/YZFop6CYIAFaUcJl7JL6Eb8iLs 1k2Z51MxzOaAHbuoRr+XB+lzHQS+2h62W8YlQrJjivxJr2kTSzrNp8H5dG7ZEvNM4316 mmHA== X-Google-DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=1e100.net; s=20161025; h=x-gm-message-state:mime-version:sender:in-reply-to:references:from :date:message-id:subject:to:cc; bh=4DNzDrLfs8iN496Xd5L9H0axpw1Kf/oZGIzIo53+29w=; b=qb6nrlOKVTnaRHTSmgHqm82P2cMkWTYqNzQwTRcLYuG4eGm1bXr7rG1KMH4PTRN3rX PY8FoyWRQ8W8LgaAYaYch+H8FYAz1fvpApOth76iqQnIY2QA5lpMSZvKvytqZ1csPw2E hdnhr4QAkp0+N9o54GzYJLO836958tbf+SKm4fZm0MmtNo+pJVslMM2JDnEln1LlIxPh eNhn2jcMGWB8f6qb6egwU7AAS5DlkwDcN6WvZO3cQpu46DcY46rvqsF/zNxsAq/8+Awu W212/yJGzO1TryMsww8rpfhiV6/RBqUnQluEYkDStg48mN1s/v3p8HkAu6N5c2GCyUTY Q79g== X-Gm-Message-State: AElRT7EPxMUuECUWZrvUe6KCwyAvBXSRimqE9g+pi/r8tbpT2iX0zsVo jPMOENmMeQUiBilVp5BlNLfKfZ+XdSLPp9bDpY9ciw== X-Google-Smtp-Source: AIpwx4+HEBTK5WQhxDvWHb3JMWs5NNcSMy0sfls47YWqsmufSZF40ahmaUaT54UV4BBd2hx8ikkKfQI58MPSQSqOleU= X-Received: by 2002:a24:4286:: with SMTP id i128-v6mr19069748itb.73.1523033149795; Fri, 06 Apr 2018 09:45:49 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Sender: wlosh@bsdimp.com Received: by 10.79.203.196 with HTTP; Fri, 6 Apr 2018 09:45:48 -0700 (PDT) X-Originating-IP: [2603:300b:6:5100:1052:acc7:f9de:2b6d] In-Reply-To: <1523032135.40504.1.camel@freebsd.org> References: <20180406153324.GA84203@www.zefox.net> <135848E0-8C35-4DE7-B8A8-D1D05A79613C@cs.huji.ac.il> <20180406162301.GA84360@www.zefox.net> <1523032135.40504.1.camel@freebsd.org> From: Warner Losh Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2018 10:45:48 -0600 X-Google-Sender-Auth: dzhSlF6qt7tHJiwFl1cWUC_gTnI Message-ID: Subject: Re: What is the default break-to-debugger key sequence on ARM? With the image in the state described above, I booted into single user, did 'fsck -y /' and had to repeat it because of a lot of unreferenced file pointers. I did 'sync' followed by another 'poweroff' [from the serial console] and observed the following: "Syncing disks, vnodes remaining... 0 4 timed out" booted single user again, did 'fsck -y /' twice (as required, since the fir= st time didn't correct all of the problems), then did 'sync' followed by 'poweroff' and got the following: "Syncing disks, vnodes remaining... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 done" and then the system hung. booted single user again, ran fsck - no problems with the file system. uname output: FreeBSD pi1c 12.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 12.0-CURRENT #0 r331740: Thu Mar 29 23:19= :27 UTC 2018 root@releng3.nyi.freebsd.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/arm.armv6/sys/RP= I-B=20 arm dmesg output (first part) KDB: debugger backends: ddb KDB: current backend: ddb Copyright (c) 1992-2018 The FreeBSD Project.
